@Anvilsam sorry to see that break, that sucks! They are expensive but it looks like you stopped before the coils were hurt.
Amazed you had enough traction to do it after the rain. Must have been hooking up nice. Did it happen on a bounce?
The winch bumper that got pulled off is scary, glad nobody got hurt.

The guy with the bumper issue was not with us. He bought the Jeep on Thursday and took it wheeling Friday. His buddy got stuck at the top of Fish Fossil so he turned around to give him a tug. He had no idea that the bumper wasn't actually bolted on.
Sam's breakage happened when I was driving so he could take some pictures. But no it was rather disappointing...I wasn't even on the gas when it let go (fortunately). There's a lot of aluminum parts down there and I don't think they would appreciate a driveshaft smacking into them at mach 20 lol.

Only "decent" pics from Lion's den (Someone else hopefully has some...) and misc pics. Missed the KY sign, and GA was missing on the return, but this trip took me through 5 states!
Lion's den was a lot of fun. Never crossed my mind how bad a recovery would be in there until after I was out, especially at night, but I think Tyler @Rocksolidfab and I made the right call to hit it after Mason Jar on the way back, otherwise I would have missed it this trip. My transfercase took a dump Saturday at the end of lower rock garden. I can only speculate that Oil Gnomes stole my TC oil in the middle of the night. It was empty (3oz came out) and the shift forks sliders burnt up and crapped out and I lost use of the rear and intermittent use of the front output. Had to park out of the Evarts entrance and circle back after making it to the Putney cabins to throw it on the trailer.
From what I recall, damage/breaks/issues include 1 CJ, 1 YJ, 1 TJ, 2 LJs, and 1 JK. I'll let the others chime in with their damage

No known carnage for me this trip, not even a scratch on the new paint...probably because the paint wasn't exposed due to mud ;)
Hit Mason Jar, lower rock garden, killin' time, lower profanity, Crawford's cry, middle rock garden (had to winch at the top), and many hill climbs. Some trails were hot lapped.
Thanks to all of the trail leaders...good job selecting good trails.
Thanks to John (and Joanne), Rob, Wes (and his mom), Don, and Biscuit for great grub. Thanks to Tony's wife, Cindy, for some great cookies.

That is strange as hell. Makes no sense that the diff would experieince that amount of torque AFTER the gas is off and it is settling...
It looks like something bound somewhere upstream and the ring gear or axles wouldn't spin and the torque is all applied to the input on the axle. Is everything inside the diff OK?
Can you spin it back and weld and all be good?
Are they spot welded or pressed when new?

Our theory is that it broke the spot weld somewhere before it actually spun the diff. We haven't pulled the cover but im sure its fine. Tyler fixed it yesterday morning and welded the tube so all is good now. They are pressed and plug welded in when new but this is a commom problem with these axles. Needless to say they are getting ripped out for something bigger and better.

The insides and tubes on those axles are huge so they should be fine after a good welding.

Had a great time even with the weather. Only missed Mason Jar due to the slickness. Did everything else but had to winch once on the slab at middle rock garden.
Washed the Jeep today and found out I hit the rock on Crawford’s Cry harder than I thought. Seems I found out how strong my armor is. Hit hard enough to dent the whole panel in and dent the tube fender. This winter isn’t going to be cheap with body repairs, tuning, and some upgrades.
