Back seat for samurai
« on: September 08, 2014, 02:22:24 PM »
I need a back seat for a 86 Suzuki samurai.
there is 35" between wheel wells.
I have no brackets or seat belts.
been kicking around the idea of putting a single seat back there to increase storage room.
let me know if you have anything that might fit
thanks
Danny

I wonder if a TJ back seat would fit???  If I recall correctly, the metal box I put in my back area was 28" wide, so the Jeep seat can't be much bigger.

I vote for a single bucket seat.

A YJ seat and brackets should be easy to fit in there
Most LCOG Builds are like a fat girl in Yoga Pants, just cause it fits doesn't mean it works...

If the internet is right, the CJ and YJ seats are 34" so that should fit nicely.
I do think it would be cool and useful to put one bucket seat and a tool box.
maybe mount it backwards like the old station wagons

You can remove the toolbox & put in a cooler. Some get sick riding with the seat facing backward.

Can anyone suggest a decent brand that won’t break the bank. I am going to mount a single bucket in the back.
I would like to also replace the front seats if I can find the right deal.

Would ya'll suggest weather proof seats or w/p seat covers. I will be leaving the doors at home most of the time.
Thanks
Danny

If interested, I have a YJ rear seat and maybe the mounting brackets I'd be willing to trade for some Bud Select //cheers2//

I used a foldable bench seat from a side by side/rzr for a back seat in my Sami... Worked great, fabricated my own brackets so the bench will can quickly be took out by a pull of a lever if I need more storage space

Do you still need a seat? I just pulled mine that's in decent shape along with the seat belts and mounting hardware.
