near hall or gwinnett county?
-
There are no legal trails in this area. Do not let people talk you into wheeling at some very known illegals spots in gwinnett county.
The closest trail system would be Forrest Service roads above Amicolola Falls or Beasley Knob in Blairesville.
-
You must be going crazy to ride. I think you asked about every legal trail and park in GA in the last 2 weeks! I am sure you are coming to the same conclusion we all have, it sucks. Unless you are living in the back yard of an ORV park you pretty much have to drive 2 hours to get to anything legal. On top of that, trails like Tatum lead, Rocky Flats, trails behind Amicola, really are not worth the 2-3 hour drive unless you plan to camp.
It sucks, but until we can all move out to CO or UT, be ready to drive awhile for anything!

its been a while...plus i haven't checked out a legal trail yet, but just got news beasley is open so i'm gonna finally check it out...what is the admission price?
-
$5 i think
-
I thought it was $10.00, but I haven't been out in.......... 4 ever it seems. :'(
-
last year it was $5 so it should be the same. Careful with that truck (not sure how high you sit). I bumped the belly on the 4 door Wrangler all day while I was there stock with the stock 32" tires with 20-25 PSI
-
i have a feeling it'll be like your trip then...stock with 31's
are there any challenging trails?
-
Should have plenty there to challenge you. If you have not been I would make sure you take a buddy. Or come out on the 30th and ride with us. That way you will be covered no matter the scenerio.
-
i can come out the 30th also but i really wanna go...if i had the money i'd go to river rock, but couldn't come up with the cash :(
i'll find someone to go with...is $5 a person or $5 a rig?
-
Per vehicle. You pay the little both with an envelope.
-
alright...i just got done lookin' at some pics in the photo album...can't wait :)
-
Just watch the weather... lookin like a possible all weekend. If it rains DO NOT GO even if it says open. Mud is one thing... mud going up some of those long, steep climbs is just asking for trouble. I wouldn't do it and I am locked front/rear. Have a good time, be safe and several us have our phone numbers in the member section. Pretty sure i have near full service through most of beasley.
-
i haven't been able to find that thread but i got tedder's number lol :)

I live a little over an hour away from Beasly Knob. Out of all the guys in GATR, do I live the closest to it?
That's a long way to go just to pull your stuck ass out :P
If I'm the only one available though I'll do it.
Just a side note I've never been there so it might take me awhile.
Also, you may have gotten your information from word of mouth, but the website says it's still closed:

They're all in one thread. Right now your membership status is Trail Rider. You have to be GATR Active Member.
-
if you are not a "member" you need to submit your member information to get access to the member boards on the forum (a whole 2 other sections). I forget where the place is to do it but a search around should find it.
-
I can't find it either, PM Matt he'll help you with it.
-
Scratch that idea. Something is already planned this wekend.
-
ya...oh well...i've got plenty of guys other than y'all if i F-up or something
-
would y'all recommend airing down on some parts?
to what PSI?
-
There are a few tight turns (central intersection and to the right) up there that will be tough in a full size. Watch your mirrors. Small turn around areas, for a full size, in spots if you cant make it. Very slick hill climbs after some rain. {agree} Fun day of riding though. Bring a lunch and enjoy or head out, on the Young Harris side, and hang a left for some good BBQ straight ahead on the right.

well i went yesterday (saturday),,,got stuck on a banked turn and slid down a steep hill, and broke a U-Joint :(
