Coming up Los primos not sure what went first but it let go. Busted axle shaft, ball joints. Great winch recovery by a lot of helpful guys. Everybody worked together as a team

Needless to say Wes is going to have his hands full getting it back together to get off the trail. But we where able to get him to the only flat spot in the whole park.

What about buying some cheap ball joints and rent a press since its all apart. I will have a floor jack stands with me tomorrow. A friend of mine hasn't given me my spare shafts yet, but I'll call to see if I can get them.
I will have my trailer that you can work on tomorrow that nice and big. You could drive it in reverse except where the bridge is well be on sketchy side.

He is going to trail repair to get it to the trailer and he should not need a shaft for that. . It would be to sketchy where he is at to go in reverse back to the parking lot.

Tripp if you want I have a u joint/ball joint tool at my place on liberty church rd. I wouldn't mind letting y'all use it, if you think ball joints will get the job done and the Cs are not busted. Wes let us know

I am pretty sure he has enough tools. Break line held on, some how and the steering is still good. He got pretty lucky with those items. Maybe he will chime in if he needs anything.

Ouch!! Looks like the entire side of that axle is gone bye bye. Tough break. Must have been corrosion from all the salt on the roads last week... ha!

Here are the few pics that I took. Too busy breaking CVs. Great to meet a lot of the new guys (and gals!). Jacked up my parking brake somehow as well...maybe stretched it somewhere. Salvaged my Saturday by hitting up a gun show on the way home and bought a new gun and some much needed (yet still too expensive) 22LR ammo. //shoot//

Battery connection issue that decided to present itself once he got on that obstacle. After I broke my second (and only spare) axle, I stuck around and held him up while he replaced the terminal.

Drive it home...I made it! Thanks everyone for the moral support and help getting me up that hill. Glad Clark was able to grab some joints and the kit. I'll post photos later today once I get all my stuff airing out. Thanks again, everyone!!!

Very fun trip. Lots of new members that came out and enjoyed. They got to see first hand how our club operates during to easy times and the tough times. Big thanks to Blue Wes for breaking in a bad spot so we could show the new guys how to do a trail fix!!
Seriously though, Wes had a bad break in a very bad spot and we had many members help recover his jeep on Friday night and then fix his jeep Saturday morning. Big thanks to Clark, Alex, John, Will and , MANY others that helped Wes make it possible to get home. Also worth noting is that while Wes used the help of friends he was self sufficient in the knowledge of his jeep and what repairs had to be made and how. This is important, the more the new guys come out and ride, the more they will learn and be in a position to help themselves.
Much fun at the campfires as always too!

I think I tweaked my rear axle, the tire is wobbling and there is a serious squeal coming from the brake. I made it home ok, but I think I'll be paying AllSouth a visit this week. Here are a few pictures I took. If anyone wants a full res copy, PM me your email address and I'll email it to you.

Just the battery clamp. Cut the factory off and put a new one. No other issues.
Passenger front lower control is almost ripped off. Its about half way on.

Glad to read Wes and Dave made it home alright. We had the best time. Thanks so much everyone for your help, especially Marc for punking me into driving my own Jeep. It was awesome. But, now you can't whine when I call you names. A deal is a deal.

I was right behind you. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera out at the time. I regretted that though, that would have been a great shot, you really got in there.

We were at the top walking back. Someone pulled out a phone I think...I hope. Would have made for a great pic because you were all kinds of twisted up.

We went up the far right side. Alex went up without cable. Tony, myself and AJ went up as well, but pulled cable.

We went up what was the old bypass...it is now pretty damn sweet obstacle in itself. There is a "new" bypass further to the right.

Did you try straight up.....used to be hard as hell.

I thought the bypass looked a lot harder than before.

Wes and I went up the right side "old bypass" on Friday. It was definitely harder, more rutted out than before. I went straight up with Kevin's group on Saturday. I think it was more doable than the old bypass. Crazy how these trails change that much.
