This always falls on finals week of my classes... Pretty sure it did again. I'm determined to make it this year, I have tons of friends from all over that go to this.

There is a host hotel that will be announced with rates later, and usually sells out in an hour.
Anywhere on Daytona Shores/Daytona Beach works. Th=ere are Jeeps everywhere you look.

Check out Holiday Shores. It's a swank little 70's style motel. Right on the beach. Nice pool. Funky little place with lots of character. I've stayed there the last two years and it has been 200 yards from the host hotel...no promise that it will be again, they haven't announced the host hotel for 2014 yet.

I'd rather stay nearby with a group of people from here. I doubt I would be quick enough to the punch to get a room at the host hotel anyways, lol.
Tony- holiday shores looks nice and seems like a deal. I'm going to spin it to Kassie. Well see how that goes..

Doug, what was the name of the place you guys stayed? Seemed pretty cool and parking lot was not near as crowded.

We stay in a 2 bdrm condo with friends... not sure of the name of the building, I'll look it up.
I'm not aware of any others for rent in the building. We looked last year for some other folks.

I'm in and it's on my calendar. Lucky for me my cousin lives in Daytona. My build should be about complete by then.

Just booked my room at the Acapulco Hotel & Resort, it's about a 1/2 mile from host hotel. It was recommended by host hotel as well. Cant wait!

Either that or see if my work trailer is wide enough to fit him on. If so, I'll more than likely tow him down due to the long drive. He's my DD, but 8+ hours might be a bit tiresome.

One of our favorite treats of the week at The Shores Resort. Try it at home, and imagine 2x better:
The Shores Grilled Cheese
Start with 2-slices of a thick white bread (Italian style is nice - at least 1/2" thick)
The Cheeses (on the inside): Mix together a healthy blend of shredded Cheddar, Monterrey Jack and Pepper-jack
Add a slice of American and of Smoked Gouda
The Outside (most important part!):
Mix together Panko Japanese style breadcrumbs and shredded Parmesan cheese (1-part cheese/3-part Panko
Schmear bread with lots of butter and press into Panko/cheese mix
grill in pan until outside it toasted brown and inside is melted..
eat and ENJOY...

Haven't taken many yet. Went to speedway and met matt this AM to help, but they just parked the trailer. We helped the Jeep beach Staff put up the BFG HUGE drive thru inflatable that leads you into the course lol.
Then we headed to St augustine with a group. it was awesome. 60 miles up the beach in FL weather with a naked Jeep.

No time for pics. Just now got to check the forum. I worked my ass off, but still managed to play every night. Lots of sun, beer and jeeps. Had some carnage from the trip down and blew the rear driveshaft. Huge thank you to Doug and Bill, that ran around Friday to get me fixed up while I manned my booth. Huge event and we will definitely be back next year. Loved the poison spider after party and the grilled cheeses were even better when I got back to the hotel afterword.

What happened to the rear DS? Happened on the highway? That's never good.

Centering ball went out again. Started popping on Friday. Need a stretch in the rear.

My rig on the Metal Cloak machine. Scored a 39. My bump stops are almost right but I really need to install brake lines. I have the fronts that came with the Metal Cloak kit. I can loose 1" of bump stop all the way around when I got to flat fenders. I really need rear sway bar disconnects too.

My first Jeep Beach and it was a blast... Had, probably, to good of a time... Some awesome rigs down there... I only snapped a pic or two... To busy drinking beer and looking at the scenery...
