Title: Morris Mountain RockRalley
Post by: Tejasol on August 05, 2010, 10:10:34 PM
We are entered in the race this weekend.  My buddy, his wife, and my wife are going to swap out driving duties, I volunteered to be the pit crew.  We watched a couple of buddies have a blast competing last year and wanted to get in on the action.  We are competing in an XJ with 3.5" and 35s.  If you can make it out this Saturday, I promise you a good time. They have a separate event going on as well.  They cleared a wobbly oval track (with a minor jump in the middle of it) for a four hour enduro race.  Folks are racing two wheel drive rigs on this track and I can't wait to see what they bring to run it in.

Everything I have is junk, but not sure I'm ready to race any of it, maybe we could find a blown XJ 4x4 dirt cheap by next year and throw one of my motors in it. {ehm}

It was a lot of fun.  My buddy's XJ didn't make it through the first lap.  He won the award for the most carnage.

Broken u-joint, stub shaft yoke ears, rear window, rear hatch, side window (my wife's fault), winch casing (done by BFH), bent steering linkage, blown balljoint.  That's about all I remember.  Good fun was had by all.

He won an award so that should pretty much make up for the cost of the carnage.  ;D

Sounds like fun.  {toast}

Yup, that be Bman.  The idea was that Brian, his wife and my wife would drive and I would be the pit crew.  Well it rained a little the night before and made the course very slick.

Here are a couple of videos.  Nothing spectacular, but there are a couple of good shots.
