AOP July 24th & 25th
Anyone plan on going?
-
I am planning on taking my grandson. Not sure if we will go up on Friday or Saturday just yet
-
I was planning on going. I went last year and they had it setup where you could view the course pretty well.
@tcdawg I may bring Jacob as his first outing. He likes everything fast so this might be his scene. Josh on the other hand...not so much.
-
I was thinking about running up there on Saturday.
-
Depending on Rona levels I might try to run up there Saturday.
-
Just saw Ultra 4’s post on Instagram. They’re waving entry fees for all first time competitors... so who here is gonna give it a try?!

Ever seen an Ultra 4 car run hot in person. Shit gets real.....real fast. It’s batshit crazy.
Maybe Sam could give it a try

No, but I'm definitely considering trekking up to this race to see it.
After re-reading the rules, I forgot just how limited the 4600 class is. I'm probably the closest one to that since I haven't seen anyone else on 35's... and there is no way in hell I'd go for it.
The 4500 modified class is basically boxes tube frame with stock body and anything else goes.
It seems like most builds here fall in-between the two classes and would get eaten alive in 4500.

- Cannot have full hydro has to have steering box
- have to keep main frame rails
-37" dot
- coilovers and bypasses are fine just have to mounted on the axle.

And will suddenly disappear if a certain guy gets office.

To many idiot out for that. Our moron boss came in last week and infected half our office. Then the company tried to hide his positive test results. Then we found out he went to church and infected folks in there too.

Our probate judge who is also a preacher has it and went to two revivals last week and was sponsored by 5 families for in home dinners at their houses. Now both churches (who have many elderly members) are having an outbreak and the courthouses in Gilmer and Fannin are shut down. As of yesterday the local health dept had 140 test scheduled for Friday morning.

I tested negative and my wife who is a RN had two tests that were negative. I don’t get around anyone. Especially now that it’s in our office. Jus stay clean is all it takes and don’t get in someone bubble. But folks jus act like they don’t care. [gun5]

Anyone know where the course is? Need the Jeep to get to it?
Or even better, anyone know of a place that rents sxs?

I don't have a clue on the course but I did read some where that supposedly there are easily accessed spectator areas. Which, that only means they'll be crowded lol.

It is the same general course from the last races. Beside the pavilion, cross the creek and go left. Then up the bouncer hill to the creek bed that go under the bounty hills. Then up to trail 4 then right thru the woods to the new section then down the lower part of the new section, cross the creek into the parking lot, race down to short course, back up thru parking lot. Lot of action with in walking distance at the first hill, short course. The creek bed is always good ,but i would prefer a ride to that.

Solid axle isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Won KOH this year.

In the west coast series where its mostly short course, I believe its ifs all day. Lower, better tire contact, etc.
In the east, yes I believe solid has the advantage and narrow chassis.
I think koh is just an equalizer. I think it depends on how the course is set up to who gets the advantage somewhat.

^^^ this rig is insane. Watching it takeoff from the start line was a highlight.
Winner of the 4800 class. Cade Rodd and second place Jeremy Jones. AOP ate ALOT of tires.

Didn’t get to see the end of the 4400 race. They started late and I had to leave.
