LC Smith "F" Grade 149858 some stock damage at the end. this has exposed Hammers. very old gun. taking it to a gun smith today for a more professional outlook but after extensive research this was made back inthe 1935 date range. a friend of mine said if you replaced the stock, it would up the value, not as much if it had the orginal but close, and would greatly increase the value. I just dont have the time to do this.
I would also be willing to take a small hand gun, 38 if possible, maybe a 2 shot, something my wife could use, + cash. I really want someone that would restore, fix it and give it the care it deserves, its been thru a lot. i will post more after i have the gunsmith look at it today.

well , all the gun money goes to my regear from 3.21 to 4.88 so. . its very important. lol im still looking at maybe march/apr of 2014 before i can afford it. but it all helps. i could prob. do it by selling my granddads .306 almost as old as the shotgun, but in super super condition. but im not going to part with it. he had it since he was in WW2 and , i hunted with it as a boy also, so it has way more memories , the shotgun has alot, but we used it more for crows, and ducks, when i turned 15 i got a new 20g and then at 18 i got a new 12g pump. so i stopped using the dbl barrel. my grandmother still used it. so its got some memories, but not as many. i would prefer. it go to someone that would give it the attention it deserves, its been thru alot.

What is the barrel length ?
Does it function ? Have you fired it ?
-
length is according to a tape measure like 30+ inches? not sure exactly where to stop. but its a good 30.
last time i remember it was fired was prob. a while ago. it will need to be cleaned. but i will have more info from the gun guy after lunch. i do know back when i was in my 20's (52) i used it daily, cleaned it, each night. not sure after i got married, it stayed with my grandparents i dont think it was used much after that as they retired soon after i moved out. i do remember it kicked like a mean mule, i had a girl friend shoot it once and it knocked her down (i told her to brace).. lol

Ok, here is what i did, went to 2 gun dealers. 1 gave me a written est. the other just verbal.
I told them i was just getting my guns value so i could est my insurance.. I did not want them know i was selling. but, both, after they gave me the est. tried to buy the shotgun.
the 1st guy gave me a verbal between 450 and 550. both confirmed. LC Smith Grade F in Fair condition. one guy said it was not useable, the other said once cleaned and given a good work
over would be fine to shoot. the 2nd guy that gave me the written est for 400 then offered me 450, and said its more of a collectors item, thats why the value and that gun collectors like this kind of stuff. i chatted a bit longer, he tried to sell me a 38 for my wife and even mentioned a trade. lol
FYI the 30/06 is a springfield 1903. Avg. Condition. they only wanted 250 - 350 im not selling it, jsut thouth it funny the shotgun is valued more than the 306 ?
so. i still dont know, i would like to see it with someone that wants to fix it up. if your interested PM me.

Sounds like I would double their estimates to get the real value. Them wanting to buy means they would sell it for double probably. //no//

Well, im not wanting to set on this thing for a long time, rather it go to someone in the club that will take care of it. and i would prefer the person that buys it, look at it in person, i dont want anyone
thinking they did not get what they expected. I also believe in carma, i have gotten many great deals here, and i want to be fair.

Fair is fair but why screw your self... well if you can.... With your timeline of not re-gearing until April/May of 2014 why not throw a 2.5x factor on their price and post it. You can even put it on some of the gun sites and see what happens. It sounds like you need the money more then the gun and if you need the money more then the gun, why cut into your wallet if you have a gun that can just about fund the entire project just because you think karma will get you. Your not screwing anyone selling it, they know the price and if they want it they can buy it.
Just my $0.02, I would rather see you have gears sooner then later then dancing around screwing yourself.

Yep. Its worth what someone is willing to pay. No one is gonna pay top dollar without doing research for themselves and knowing what its worth. With a gun that old, that certainly is not common or easy to put your hands on. People buying would be the ones collecting. I would put it on gun trader or the outdoors trader and see what happens. $1500-2000 range obo.

a friend of mine said if you replaced the stock, it would up the value, not as much if it had the orginal but close, and would greatly increase the value.
If you replace any parts on that gun, keep the original parts and tell any potential buy that you have them too. Unless your "friend" is an expert on LC Smith shotguns you run the risk of destroying the value of the gun to a collector.
Collectors are a different breed of gun enthusiast.

I have 2 of those. In perfect condition as well. hhhmmmmmm, maybe time to sell //;D// I have so many old rifles and some civil wat stuff as well that just collects dust. I should go thru and start getting some dough for it all. Buy me a real nice AR //SLAMIN//
