Hey GATR,
Looks like the weather this weekend is going to be great. Haven't been wheeling since Jeepfest so I'm planning on heading up to ride Tray Mtn on Sunday morning for an easy ride before Gulches next weekend //letseat// . I'm just putting this out there in case anyone wants to join in. I'm going to be at the Bethel Church on Bethel Road at 10 AM. If you need an address: 45 Bethel Road - Sautee Nacoochee, GA 30571 will take you to the campground near the church.
As always, hope to see all of you the trail. If not this weekend, then GATRFest for sure //SLAMIN//
-
I'll be there. Weekend of riding,Choccolocco on Saturday and Tray mtn Sunday //SLAMIN//
-
Sounds like a great weekend to me //SLAMIN//
-
I might be in for this. The JK hasn't seen dirt in a while
-
Just a heads up. There is a large whit oak down across the trail on the back side coming from the church side. I was able to"squeeze" under it but anyone with bigger than 33" tires will have a hard time. I would bring a saw with you. You should be able to clear it easily with a little work.

Thanks for the heads up Marc, we'll have to see what it looks like. Hopefully it's not too blocked. I'll bring a saw for sure, just in case.
-
Dang that still hasn't been cleared? I reported that a month ago to the F.S.
-
Tree has been removed, or at least moved out of the way.

I can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday morning. I'll be there.

Nice, that will make 3, maybe 4 of us, depending on ATLSRT8
-
Myself and another JK will be there at 10. See everyone in the AM
-
Alright, see you all then //SLAMIN//

I might be able to make it too. I'll need to get up early to get ready.

Bear post up when you find out what was going on with rear axle
-
Sorry, Bear. I heard you had the wherewithal to duck/lean into the passenger seat when that went down. I'm glad you weren't seriously injured.
-
Thanks Clark sorry I missed you. Yep just one of those days. If I can find a windsheild frame I'll be at Gulches. The rest I can live with till after that
-
Glad you are OK buddy. Jeep is just metal and glass. Sure like to see you add a cage that comes forward to the windshield.
-
Glad your ok Bear. Just saw all the pics. Damn

Wow, that looks like one crazy day at Chocco. Glad to see you're alright Bear, that's the most important thing. Sorry about your Jeep, hopefully you can find that windshield frame before Gulches.

Hope to see you there. It wont be nearly as exciting as the ride you led in August, but it sould be a nice fun ride; especially with the forecast looking good.
-
Loaded and leaving now. Just need to stop for gas for the Jeep.
-
Took a wrong turn, be there about 10:05
-
Glad to see you're ok. But here's my question, what's wrong with the windshield the way it is, now you have more aerodynamics!!!
Just kidding, hope you can get everything buttoned up for next weekend.

We were chiling at one of the eaterys and saw you all drive through town.

Well I think I have found what caused some of my problem Saturday( will get pics later. When I started up the trail behind Bobby only my front locker would engage and pull, the rear would spin one tire. Not until I backed up some would the rear engage but only till I got on it hard then one tire would spin so all I had pulling was the front axle, like being in 2wd. When installing one of these Aussie lockers the directions tell you to re use your thrust washers that are behind the spider gears which creates a limited amount of room for the two halves of the locker to slip when making turns. For some reason the thrust washers (both of them) are chewed up and laying in the diff cover leaving to much space between the locker halves. I have set up and built a ton of over the road truck and racecar rearends thru the years and I've never seen just the thrust washers come out like this. Good news is I have a Dana 44 with disc brakes laying in the shop floor that was going in this winter when I put the 360 in. I'm calling pull a part in the morning and go get a hood and windsheild frame also

Helen was packed, we rolled back through around 2-2:30 and it was lined up for miles getting in and out of downtown.
-
It was a great ride today. Nice to meet everyone.
-
Bear, do you think Aussie is to blame or just a 'crap happens' situation?
What locker is in the 44?
-
Pleasant ride today except for the crawl through Helen (20 minutes) on the way back.
I had intended to revisit Anna Ruby Falls after the ride, but when I got to the parking booth there was a sign saying the falls are closed until further notice. Seems the falls are USFS rather than part of Uncoi State Park.
-
Clark to tell you the true I have know idea. They looked fine when I put them in with the locker. The 44 has a spool in it which will have to go.
-
Great ride today guys. Nice to meet those of you I hadn't wheeled with before. As for those of you I had, it was nice to wheel with you again. Hope to see you all at GATRFest //SLAMIN// I also realized after the ride I managed to knock my license plate loose, I'm not sure how though. And ditto on the Helen traffic, that town was crazy busy today.

Did y'all take any pics??
