Title: JK or JL Stock Spare Tire Carrier/Mount
Post by: Will on April 01, 2021, 07:21:03 AM
Looking for a stock tire carrier for a 5x5 bolt pattern. Can be for JK or JL. I threw away my factory mount last year but now looking for one to carry the spare for a trailer I’m building before I just make a mount. Let me know if you’ve got one to get rid of.

Thanks.

I have this from my 2012 JK.  Will this work for you?

Sure will! I may or may not end up needing the extension bracket. How much for both?

What type of trailer are you building?

Well... it started off as a folding harbor freight trailer that we would keep in the garage and use to haul all my wife's glamping gear and all our paddle boards/kayaks/bikes that we like to take camping but now it is turning into one of those stupid overland trailers. I kept getting hooked up with parts to the point where I felt obligated to build it. I'm pretty excited about it. It's been a fun little project so far and I'll start a little build thread soon.

is that a kit?

It started as a used harbor freight trailer. They sell them as bolt together kits: https://www.harborfreight.com/1195-lb-capacity-48-in-x-96-in-heavy-duty-folding-trailer-62648.html

So far I’ve welded it up and added a stick of 2x2x 3/16” square tube down the middle to strengthen it up, and primed and painted it. Also swapped in a bigger axle with 5-lug hubs and added 33s.
