Jason snapped a front axle shaft on the first obstacle of the day this morning.  He had a spare, and it got replaced in less than 20 minutes.

Another great trip in the books. This park never disappoints!

Quick recap:
We had perfect conditions this weekend. Great meeting some newer members. Food was awesome, thanks again Don!  Stickies are cool. My buddy, Kevin, had angreat time and hopefully gets bit by the bug!

Wheeling was awesome on both days. This park dries out quick! All rigs with stickies had some great opportunities to show them off. Everyone else seemed to get good traction. Highlight of the weekend was when our entire group crawled The Rock Garden unassisted. Sam, Tony, Mike, Me, Steve, Clark. Nasty trail that I didn't expect to even attempt, much less get through it.

Nope, I had to winch at rock garden due to that tire being so bound up.  See the picture Jay posted.  Regardless, that's going to be fixed with 42 Treps later this month.

Great park, great people, great weather, great food...not mu♒ch more to ask for.

Ah, that's right. That was a strange situation, and I completely forgot. Still pretty awesome!

Mike busted off a tire valve, but he was able to use the valve insertion tool to replace it without having to break the bead.

We had a great time this weekend although peter was a little worried at times. My highlights were making the far left of the rockgarden, crawling waterfall, and the last trail was one of if not the most epic ever. Sorry you missed it jay

I'll be okay. I'm sure I'll see pics from this trail soon. I haven't seen my small roommates in a week, so wanted to eat dinner with them.

Nope. Haven't seen it. LOL

Had a good time.  Mark was a great lead and even got us through a black diamond (with liberal use of winch and tow ropes).  His son was taking pics, so there should be some pictures up on the forum soon.

In terms of carnage, nothing from Hale.  Seems my cruise control found a gremlin - engine light came on and codes states transmission control.  I lost everything but second gear.  Freaked out a little.  Reset the computer last night and took a test drive.  Worked fine. Figured if I didn't use cruise control I had a chance of getting home.  Avoided the interstate and babied it.  Almost made it.  Got through 204 miles before lost everything but second gear again.  This time it was when it downshifted while braking.  Was able to limp the last 7.5 miles home.    Looks like AS gets to keep it for awhile.

Yeah, the entire way home I was thinking that I wouldn't be having this problem with a manual.

That last trail Saturday afternoon really was a good one. We crawled the heck out of it for sure!!  And, I got redemption on the one ledge that I bounced so hard on 2 years ago and blew out my rear ring gear. It was Black Trail 1 - TC 0 but now it's 1-1!!

No pictures Jay. Too busy wheeling.

Really great weekend.  Absolutely perfect weather, trail conditions were very good and the Gatr crew, as always, was nothing but good times.

The rock garden was really fun and cool that we found a line for our group to conquer. The waterfall was pretty fun as well, I gave it all I had but just wasn't there.

Like everyone said, epic weekend wheeling. I decided to get I it this trip and take on the hard trails. I was able to get through almost all of it with only a couple bypasses.

The first trail we hit on Saturday we weren't 20 minutes out and a log took out one of my valve stems. Tony and Clark had the amazing tool to insert the stem from the outside of the rim. Got a new one installed and we were on our way.

I really need to get those 37s and beadlocks and I should be set for a while.

Thanks to Don for the awesome pig roast Friday night.  The man was exhausted and still came through for everyone.

i had a great time also, still getting used to wheeling with the new shoes, but lots of really really great trails.   got some door damage, pass side soft door got bent, so trying to figure out how to bend it back.  :(  besides that, some great scaring on the new wheels and the tires held up nicely, a few marks and trail rash but all in all they held up very well.

thanks to all those that lead groups, its a hard job.  we did a cool river bed and some narly downhill crawls.

looking forward to the nxt ride.

i have some pic, i will post them up tomorrow.  need to get them off my phone.

I had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone that I got a chance to. This place was more challenging for me than AOP but I found that new challenges in a Jeep can be real easy. My son was so excited throughout the weekend that he is talking about getting an old TJ of his own.
We went with Mark and he found ways to challenge us at every turn and always was making sure we felt good about doing it. He took a short black diamond trail and I decided to try it also, got up the most of it but had to be winched up the very end. Finally broke some of those quality plastic fins on my rims and just missed taking a part a fender off.  Definitely need more time on challenges like that to learn better throttle control.
So, if anyone is selling 35's anytime soon I'm in the market. I thinks it's time to put my old 17" stocks rims to work with 35's on them. Needing a lift of some sort too so I can fit new shoes on it.
Thanks again to everyone and thanks to Chris for giving the encouragement to do the black diamond trail.

I had an awesome time. Wheeled with a great group on
Friday and then a great group on Saturday. Jeep did good
with no issues. Tried waterfall both days and couldn't make
it. Was in awe watching Don go up the far left side of the
rock garden. So then I gave it a go, I was doing pretty good
until my rear slid over and got my passenger tire in a gap,
both front tires up against rocks. I just couldn't get it to climb
so Don pulled me up a couple feet.

My new storage box with the 37'' spare on top did just fine.
Got some useful tips on where to put my Hi-Lift jack for the
Moab/Colorado trip. Only carnage I had was dropping my
month old phone into the creek fully submerging it. Been in
rice most of the time since Friday night. I was able to post a
few pictures on Facebook Friday afternoon before that.

Again I want to mention what it means to have
great spotting on the trails. Thanks to everyone
who spotted for me. Thank you Tony for being
honest at Waterfall when I ask "what do you think
try it one more time?".

I want to especially say a big thank you to Todd
and everyone at rock garden for keeping me calm
and assuring me that I wasn't getting close to the
big drop off. Not be able to see how far I was the
from the drop off had me scared shitless. To be
honest I guess I still have some thoughts or fear's
from my hard flopped at AOP a year and a half ago.....

I had an amazing time this weekend. The Friday ride was pretty awesome. Got to try some things I never would have on my own, made it up several blacks without having to winch!!! Definitely got to test the strength of the new skid plate, glad I had it, would have taken out my oil pan a few times without it. Thanks mark for leading on the Saturday ride, I always have a great time with your groups. Don, I have to say you've definitely made it to master camping chef status in my book. All components of the meal were fantastic!!!

Ha. I resemble that remark. BTW I can fix winch rope with ease! It's really not that hard. The biggest problem is I lost 15' of rope.

Looks like Jay to me.

Cool to see clark wearing a helmet though. I need to start wearing mine
My goal was to wear it more frequently.  I tried to abide by a rule that if I thought an obstacle was concerning enough too wear the full harness, then I should be wearing the helmet.  Waterfall, rock garden, and the last epic trail that Jay missed, were the winning obstacles.

Marc it's all good, I got my fun in and that's all that mattered but, I was in the background on a couple of shots so that's good enough.
Next I'll need to get some shots of it out there with whatever lift I get on it by then.

After a 5 days in the rice it would power on but that's
it. My wife spent about an hour or more on the phone
with Samsung (I guess) and they were able to do a hard
reset. The pictures and videos where stored on my Google
account so there we go. Just been having trouble with
the photobucket (which I prefer) down loading so I could
post. Never did figure out why Flickr wasn't showing them.

On a smarter note...my daughter had order and just received
a Go Pro for our Moab/Colorado trip. So surely she can do
better at those video's than me. I told her she would have
to do a YouTube account for those.....

That stinks.  The new phones are supposed to be water proof (or is it water resistant?).  I don't want to test mine.
