These memories make me wanna find an XJ today!
Donny
-
find one... itll be a great project
-
Dude,
I am gonna find one. I've had 3 jeeps and could not live without one long. I'm gonna build a pretty mild one.. basically the equal to my old rubicon but one I'm not afraid to break or roll and above al one I don't have to use as a daily driver.
Donny
-
that would be awesome... ill help put on the lift. every time i finish putting on a lift i tell myself not to do any more... but i always do... i think its in my blood.
-
TK, I think I have the same condition. It's called Jeepaholic.
My name is Ben, and I am addicted to Jeepahol.
-
i have never tried that so called jeepahol... kinda sounds nasty... but i do love jeeps... when you get your lift and if you put it on yourself... i have two hands. just lemme know
-
yeah. sorry. didnt read your other post about already having the lift in the garage. im an idiot :-\
-
I'd be willing to help also. Did my first 2" BB by myself in only 6 hours. Had some help with the 3.25", but I also added some other stuff. You can count on me, but only up to ten. (Thats a handicap joke.....) If you don't get it let me know I'll explain.
-
Just to let you know I've lifted many a TJ, XJ, CJ, YJ and even a ZJ so let me know if anyone ever needs a hand. I'm also really good with electrical. I was a car audio and electronics installer for over 10 years.
I like helping people that appreciate it, not people who only call when they need something and I'll tell you all I really need some new friends. My " friends keep talking about coming over and swimming this summer, but nobody has helped me do anything around here yet.

Im telling you...I cant wait for people to start appreciating the help! ;)
-
Thanks for all the offers guys but my dad, I do live at home so his rules, saids that he wants me to do somewhere to have it installed. He said he is worried about something going wrong and if something does go wrong then I have somewhere to take it too. He lets me do most stuff that I want to do but not the lift, so all out of luck, plus I might be able to get a cheaper install price if I get tires too.

LOOK AT ALL THAT RUST!!! You need to coat those spindles with mud so you dont have this problem.
-
ha ha... thats what i did. it works pretty good... cakes on there real nice
-
no you need a full float d60 with chromoly shafts...
(some might call that over kill, not me)
Edit: I call it weight reduction for your wallet.
-
i dont know about him andy... bbut i think i might need an implant in my wallet... i dont even know if that makes sense... an implant of money :-\
-
I'm in the same boat as you.
-
Im telling you...I cant wait for people to start appreciating the help! ;)
Hmm.. what are you trying to insinuate douche bag?
-
you like saying douche bag dont ya :D
-
Yeah, it's one of my all-time favorites. :D
Especially to Matt.
-
douche bag is a good word! i use it alot
-
i throw it around here and there.
-
It's great. It works so well. I would say everyone should use it, but then, I'd probably get tired of hearing it.
-
yeah... you should prolly coin it quick
-
douche bag! douche bag! douche bag! douche bag!
-
i guess its matts new catch phrase now daniel... sorry. gotta be quicker next time
-
Yea Daniel you should have coined. Since you didnt your a douche bag!
-
Quick question douche bag. How am I supposed to be aware of the fact, that I'm supposed to be coining a catch phrase when I'm out on a trail, showin' everybody how it's done Ranger-style, then I come back, get a quick chasis spray on my truck and a quite lengthy one on YOUR rig, all the while your sittin' in your douche bag chair, doin' douche bag acts, being a douche bag?
Oh, your welcome for me wasting my time spraying off the Durango so you didn't have to, douche bag. ;D
-
Thanks for washing my truck douche bag.
-
stop with all the douche bagging ya Bag-O-Douche ;D
-
Sorry, I got in a douche bag zone there, and once I let loose, I'm gone.
-
It happens to the best of us.
-
I know, I hope you guys can find it in yourselves to forgive me.
-
:'( I'll try (sniffle, sniffle) :'(
-
i dont care... you crossed the line daniel... its unforgivable... >:( :'( ;) :D ;D
-
TK give him a chance AKA don't be a douche bag ;D
-
fine... dont call me out like that andy... you douchebag :)
-
Ill forgive you...douche bag!
-
Ill forgive you...douche bag!
Matt, I wasn't looking for your forgiveness. I'll just take that from you whenever I want ya douche bag. 8) It's the whole "taking candy from a baby" line you hear. The same thing with you. It's the other guys, that I don't know so well, that I could've scarred, that I'm worried about.
See what you've done, you went and got Andy and TK arguing now, calling each other douche bags, you douche bag. ;D
i dont care... you crossed the line daniel... its unforgivable...
I sure hope not.. I couldn't live with myself with that burdening down on me.
-
Back on topic.... :D
(http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w92/s10er8/Picture226.jpg)
-
wrong... :D back off topic... i thought about it alot these past couple hours and i forgive you daniel... i would not want to have someone mad at me like i was mad at you so i am not mad anymore and i am sorry andy for yelling at you too
-
I forgive you ... but really back on topic:
(http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w92/s10er8/Picture226.jpg) ;D
-
Back off for a quick sec.
Thanks TK for forgiving me. I couldn't have gone through the rest of my days with the fact that I had upset you so much to the point of near hatred, if not pure hatred itself. So, I thank you for your forgivingness to other, at least me. I am sorry I caused such a chaotic rift between you and Andy. I'm glad you guys were able to put this behind you and move along with your lives in such a positive way. I think more people should be like you. Not so close-minded. Able to forgive others for things near sin-able.
Was that almost a Dr. Phil ramble or what? Oh wait, (borrowing it from Chappelle) "Women are smart, men are stupid."
Hardy har.
-
good thing you put " " on it... i would have been a bit upset with you
-
BACK ON TOPIC. Here is without the rear sway bar. Still picking the tire up :'( :'( :'(
(http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w196/gatrailriders/Shoals%20and%20Pib%20March%202007/HPIM0830.jpg)
-
I'd love to post some new pictures, but unfortunately, none were exactly taken of the Ranger last time we ventured out. Then again, all Matt and myself can do is flex the rear end.
-
i dont think my front has enough flex to try and show off
-
Yeah, I know mine doesn't.
-
i dont think my front has enough flex to try and show off
Its not showing off, just show what ya got nobodys judging.
-
And another reason why I love solid front axles: flexxing.
-
Yeah, IFS blows.
-
Your telling me.
-
So SAC (its more of a conversion than a swap) it
-
yeah matt.... sac it
-
I would love too. Maybe I will donate the Durango to Premier Off-Road, once up and running???
-
I'd like to, but like Matt said, maybe after Premier takes off.
-
I would get something with a sfa, cherokees are cheap dependable and TOUGH. you could easily get one for $1500.
-
I just started paying on a $20,000 truck. So, that might have to wait.
-
What if you need warranty work done and they see the solid axle.
Tell them it was a dealer option and is warrantied :D
-
They'd never suspect a thing. Morons! ;D :D
-
be like... i didnt do anything to it... it was like that... i think? :-\
-
"Hey.. I bought it with this axle installed. Well, it's not my fault you didn't document everything on it before you sold it. What lift? That was installed, too."
I can see it now.
-
Good thing you got your warranty through Toyota. They definitely will not notice.
-
Yeah.. hopefully. Then again, hopefully it won't come to that.
-
Well, as long as they can't prove the front axle caused the damage, they legally have to fix it under warranty.
-
I can post here now, Woo Hoo! ;D
(http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k53/Sporer65/P4150002.jpg)
-
Hopefully I'll be able to put some flex-worthy pics up here as well.
-
This one is kind of lame. It's just after I put my add a leaves in and before my body lift. I'll get some better ones after I get my bumpers put on next Friday. She looks aweful without them. :(

I do not have a close up or side shot. It is sitting on 35's to help give you an idea of flex.

Doesn't that get a little messy?

Hey you were at Beasley. I love that 2-door cherokee btw. Very nice. I was talking to daniel about it. I never really see alot of 2 doors.
-
Yeah, that Cherokee was a beast. "Very nice"
-
Looks like you almost lost a spring in that flex, crazy.
-
just take away my thunder!
That cherokee is sick. Im sure u watched us going up those rocking thinking "cake walk"
-
If I owned that Cherokee.. I would've thought that exact thing. :D
-
just take away my thunder!
That cherokee is sick. Im sure u watched us going up those rocking thinking "cake walk"
Hey, your jeep went right up those rocks. Made it look easy on those 35"s. Nice flex by the way.
-

Hey, your jeep went right up those rocks. Made it look easy on those 35"s. Nice flex by the way.
The next day we went over that same climb and I took a harder line and broke my steering box! So not so much of a cake walk. But it looked like everyone had a great time!
-
You should definitely come ride with us some more. I would like to see that cherokee in action.
-
Im always looking to meet new people and ride!
-
That'd be nice to get an awesome Cherokee to show us how it's done.
-
nice XJ
BTW Coal Creek Tn is a cool place but not much rock (but where its rocks its good rock... Rattle Rock... now I need a rig that can keep up with my friends / or just do RR at all) ;D ...
Me at bottom

-
thats pretty big :o
-
I think it was one of the smaller ones.
-
I personaly would like a better shot of that cherokee's front axle assembly. Fron the pics it look as though it has some trick bracketry in the truss work.
-
Coal Creak has some good rock, just spread out.

where is coal creek? Man i got so many places i want to go. Got Beasley off the list, now i have Tellico, Slick Rock (thats the one down in milledgevile right?) and now this place looks pretty cool too
-
Add Morris Mountain to your list! Caol Creek info http://www.westgeorgiajeepclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8
-
slick rock is a obstacle at tellico River Rock is in milledgeville they have a website www.riverrockorv.com its a good place to ride its better if a club rents the park instead of a open ride but to each his own
-
Ok so we have:
Beaseley
Tellico (slick rock is there)
River Rock
Coal Creek
Morris Mountain (info anyone?)
1 down, 4 to go!
-

Ok so we have:
Beaseley
Tellico (slick rock is there)
River Rock
Coal Creek
Morris Mountain (info anyone?)
1 down, 4 to go!
Your list is quite short so you will probably add lots more.
-
We have lots to do this summer! ;D
-
After the lift and everything, right? ;D :)
-
BMW trail in SC and Gulches ORV are 2 more
-
We've definitely got places to go. Just the problem is time constraints. Hopefully we'll be able to deal with those after sometime in May... ;D
-
http://www.morrismountainorv.com/
We took a picture of your jeep at Beasley.(http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w92/s10er8/Picture344.jpg)
-
What type of lift is that for the front?
-
What type of lift is that for the front?
Most of it is Skyjacker.
-
Is it a long arm setup or is it custom. I was just wondering as I have a ZJ and the front suspension is the same.
-
It started off a 8" Skyjacker Rock Ready kit, then fixed the problems they had with other parts. Most everything is still Skyjacker.
-
a little flexing from this past weekend ...short arm kit .

Copasetic, is the blazer gonna be a street king. Surely you don't plan on taking it on trails? You would have every limb in the forest beating it up.
-
what type of upper spring mount is that? I like how the spring is allow to fall.
-
Since we have some street flexing...
And to NDIXIE, that is just a longer bumpstop/spring post extension.

how do the bottom of the springs keep from dropping out?
-
what type of upper spring mount is that? I like how the spring is allow to fall.
It's simply the top of the coil coming away from the upper bump stop. It's not a special upper spring mount. If I had to guess, it is at full extension in that photo. I think that is Jeremy's XJ.

Are those the tires you plan on running at Tellico if you go?
-
You'd definitely need some good, new A/Ts or you'd do better with M/Ts. Tell 'em Chris, how those Bighorns blow other tires away. ;)
-
Flexxin' on the neighbor's sewer thingy!
I have to have the vehicle tagged and insured to park at the house due to Homeowner's Association rules. So with a little work and a little more cheating, I passed emissions and now run over stuff in the subdivision.

I just bought these so yeah. they are 285/75/16 Dayton timberline a/t. I am saving to get some 35`s when i lift her and then i am going to get some m/t`s. They have not let me down so far, i work in alot of places that only don`t have roads built yet just cleared with a bulldover and like i said they are a lot better than the goodyear a/t`s that they replaced.

Had to be a GATR trip to be in the calendar...unless that rule has changed.

@jc79 seems to have been a good addition to the group.
Maybe so. Is there a way to see when you joined?

I was joking. There's the registered date on the profile but in my case I registered in 2011 but really didn't participate until 2014 when things started going back downhill I'm sure :)
Haha, I was too. I didn't pull June 2012 out of the blue

It’s my 16th wedding anniversary today so of course my wife is going through old pictures. We found this one from 2001. She forced me to keep harassing the owner of this shop until he gave me a job.
From learning how to turn a wrench, to starting a shop, to being a part of this great club, we’ve been in the Offroad community ever since. Looking back, her harassing me to get this job really changed our lives.

I guess this kinda applies to this thread ...(I mean, the flex in the picture is what initially draws my eye )...
is it me or does anyone else stop to gawk at this particular month's calendar image ,wherever it's displayed in your home?
every morning , Lisa catches me standing , staring at @Raisinhead 's Jeep just a little longer than usual...
it's pretty awesome [slammin]
