I like it. I like the rims not being so wide also.
-
x2 on the rims and tires being better. You should be able to get a pretty penny back on those old wheels and tires. Now lose the flares and trim, trim, trim ;D
-
Looks good! It's exactly how i want mine to look when I'm done.
Are you gonna get rid of the tires in the bed? I've been lookin for some M/T's...
-
Oh, and pretty ballsy mounting the white letters in, I heard from an expert that'll make them fall off the bead!
-
Holy mother of SiCk looking Rangers. Thats NIIIIIICE! Congrats! :o
-
I like it. 8" wide rims are much better too. And your Ranger looks 10x better with white letters in and black rims. I hope you don't change them even though I know you said you liked chrome and letters out.
So, any rubbing being street driven?
-
Actually I do like the white letters outside. But the only reason I got the chrome is because there was so much stock chrome on the truck, I think it would've looked dumb putting black wheels on at that point.
Surprisingly, I didn't rub once going to Matt's house (where the pics were taken). I turned sharper in areas that I would've normally and all that, but I suppose I just lucked out.
-
I love the black wheels. Looks great. Might definitely want those bump stops in the rear though...
-
Thats looking good. ;D
-
looks good.i like the black rims too.oh what i think is you should give me those old wornout tires in the bed too :o ;D :D
-
Nice! ;)
-
looks good! time for a bigger lift and some trim on the fenders
-
wanna sell the 35's? I want some 35's

-

who?

Daniel
Chris I would love to have your 37's but need a little bit bigger of a lift and some stronger axles.
-
ill sell ya my 35's. 20k on the ProComp Xterrains, 0 miles on the spare

Daniel

I thought you had D44's front and rear? I only have a D30 and D44 combo. Your axles are stronger than mine.
-
I had xterrains didn't care for them to much thanks for the offer though
-
I have heard stories about 44's and anything bigger than 35's. But that could give me a reason to ditch the 44's
-
$1500 I could buy everything I've got again (and still have some to splurge on). Let's do it!!!
-

alot has to do with your type of wheeling.a friend of mine runs d44's has been for 15 years with the same axles.he has broken a hub or two but it was his fault there not the axles giving up on him.(slinding directly into rocks with them)and he runs 42 on them
-
Whoa, whoa, so what's going on now? Tires are flying everywhere. If somebody's getting rid of Rubi 44s... me me me me me! I want em. ;D
-
All a rub front axle is a dana 30 with a 44 ring and pinion. I wouldn't trust 37's on a stock rub front axle.

Exactly, I'll take em off your hands ;D

Well, thats not quite right. The D44 center section of the housing is larger and is also gusseted more than the D30. The D44 inner shafts are also larger than the D30. The only common interests between the D30 and D44 are axle tube diameter, inner shafts and the knuckle. I would run a 37" on a D44, but not if you live on the pedal.
-
Mike does. :-\ Seems to work pretty well for him.

In Mike's case, he has the "Next Generation" D44, which is a bit stronger in a couple of key areas over the TJ D44. Also, Mike is "pedal smart".
-
Well I feel bad for those who are "pedal dumb" ;D
-
and I got the "pedal cure" D60's
-
jk 44 is a little different than a tj

jk 44 is a little different than a tj
It's still got the 30 tubes. It's not beefed up too much. Not enough for someone to feel perfectly fine on and wouldn't on the TJ Rubi 44. Are the shaft splines different? Same U-joints, right?
-
jk D44 has 32 spline shafts, but yes, the tubes still suck.

Well, the JK Rubicon 44 has 32 splines to 30 splines on the TJ Rubicon 44. It also has a larger thick gear and a stronger electric locker compared to air locker on the TJs. So, 37"s on a JK Rubicon 44 is alot better of an option then 37"s on a TJ Rubicon 44. On JF, some Jeep engineers posted up about the axle and mention all the benefits and I'm trying to find it now.
-
Here is what they posted:
"The knuckles, tubes, and suspension brackets are just adaptation pieces to attach the axle to the vehicle. The part that makes it a 44 or a 30 or whatever is the parts that carry torque. The TJ Rubicon has the larger model 44 gear set and larger splined shafts and stonger U-joints at the wheel ends. The JK Rubicon got similar imporvments with the Model 44 (this time we got the high pinion) and 30 spline shafts and stronger U-joints (this time they got bigger and not just a material change)."
It says 30 splines while I have heard 32 splines, so I don't know.
-
ok i might make myself look stupid here but i could of sworn i read somewhere that Non Rubicon D44 is 30 and Rubicon model is 32 spline... maybe... i just know if you want to by new axle shafts you have to pick which model you have.
-
For the rear, it is 30 spline for regular 44 and 32 for Rubicon. Not sure about the front whether it is 30 or 32. Maybe 30 inner and 32 outer. Not sure.
-
Yea i am about 90% sure the front is 30 inner and 32 outer and the non rub rear is 30
-
hey Daniel are you gonna get a tire carrier that goes in the bed of your truck now?
-
Truck looks good. What are you doing with the old 33's. I am trying to find some before the 15th.
