Is this a potluck, or just byo food?
I can also suggest that taking some time to visit the Anna Ruby falls at the park would be worthwhile, esp. if the weather is nice.
-
Alot of posts got deleted so repost any questions or ideas. //BEER//
-
If Logan doesn't have a Lacrosse Playoff Game that weekend we're looking forward to coming along :)

If Logan doesn't have a Lacrosse Playoff Game that weekend we're looking forward to coming along :)
Trying to get my son in Lacrosse next year //letseat// - Good luck!
-
I'll probably camp at Unicoi friday night with the fam...
-
Who is all in for camping?
-
I might be interested in camping Friday night. I'm down for Saturday tentatively.
-
I can show up to the picnic area a little early and get grills started or help set stuff up if needed. No trail riding for me in my daily driver.
-
We eating Mexican or grilling dogs/burgers???
-
How is Trey Mtn? Any creek crossings or anything interesting??
-

Dirt road up the mtn for you and your beast. Hardest obstacle for you might be going under a fallen tree unless it's bee cleared lol.
For stock or no flex, some ditches and ruts that might be fun. There are a few puddles as well.
-

A couple waterfalls to look at. Also one puddles in the road that you have to drive through. Its extremely bumpy on the back side. Definitely air down just to make it more enjoyable. Will take a few hours to get through with a big crowd.
-
Gonna try to camp but pricey at unicoi! If no camping I will be up saturday early with the fam to hang out all day.
-
Lots of good sites right off Trey
-
Yup. I was thinking this Mat. They want like $35 a night to tent camp! Screw that!
-
There is a real cool spot if you come up the rough side, right when it gets creepy because all the foliage is dead and the trees are knocked down. Its surround by rock walls on 3 sides.
-
I will be camping locally. Within a 15 minute drive of the park. Pop up comfort camping. //SLAMIN//
-
Are we having an open buffet style food plan? So all of us will bring something or just bring your own food? If we all have items to bring on a list we can do a big buffet.
-
I say we do a buffet style - everyone bring something //letseat//
-
Will start a sign up thread then...

Nope this is more for the family and the kids...... //no//

Agreed. AJ, keep that at the campsite. We still need some people to bring some food and snacks. Hate to have alot of people show up and not have enough to feed everyone. Bring anything, it's better than nothing. //letseat//
-
I will talk to Jacqie and see what we can come up with food wise
-
Will there be anywhere to run some rc's?
Maybe set up a small course for the kids.

We need corn hole boards

I might be able to borrow corn hole. Only bad thing is they are Alabama painted! I'm a Sooner fan!
I'll find out tomorrow.

Roll Tide!! The Admiral and I are planning on attending this feast. We will be bringing some appetizers (aka chips and salsa) and a veggie burger for Laura! Not sure about pie though maybe some cookies.
Where is Shelter 6 at Unicoi? And I guess we will also have to pay the $5 peaking fee eh?

If your looking for a Corn Hole board , I was just driving through Hiawasse on the way home, and saw a
Place that sells them. Had 6 or 7 hanging up outside. I didn't stop to check price.
Place called " Cornhole" right past "The Blue Otter" and the Sand Bar. Located on
the left.
I'll try and check them out when I have more time .
-
I'm coming and have GEORGIA corn hole boards. Done!
-
I'm just letting people know in case they wanted some of their own. Guess I need to make some Oklahoma Sooner ones!
Yeah, I know I'm out numbered here in fricken SEC country!
Ha ha!
-
This might just have to be my first trail ride w/ y'all! Unless it is Jeep only?
And if not, anything absolutely mandatory I would need to bring?
-

This club is not JEEP only...very open to any manufacturer.
-
My first ride also, and I have also have a truck.
There is a sign up post for what to bring if you are going to the cook out afterwards.

Awesome, we'll try and make it out! Aside from ourselves and truck, is there anything trail riding, off roading, recovery gear wise that we should bring?

Yeah, I do remember seeing that list now back a year ago when I first joined. I may not be able to grab everything I need before next weekend so I'll have to catch the next one!
-
Me. Ben swing by and put them in the burb. Even jeep themed!
-
Im going to be late, I have to haul my wife and daughter to the airport, so i cant get there till around 11am . not sure when the ride will start.
-
I am going to be late, probably just going to meet at the pavilion. Too cold to camp with kids I think, surprise downturn in temps is predicted.

Was hoping to make this...was waiting to post up til I get my front end issues all fixed. New steering rack, new lower ball joints, new lower control arms...got it all buttoned back up & aligned this weekend. Test drove on highway...still having an issue! Think I'm gonna take it to Allsouth tomorrow for professional help. Upper control arm bushings? Wheel bearings?? So, long story, but prolly not gonna make it this weekend. Bummed, but gotta get a driveable rig again. Ugh.
-
3-5 inches of rain expected over the next couple of days! Sunshine Thursday and thru the weekend
-
Who would be upset if we do not have a ride in the am? The staff is discussing this option. Please post up and let us know if this will ruin the day or not for some of you.
-
Is there a posibility of having it run into sunday? (Saturday afternoon, camp, sunday morning) I know that there are revervation issues possibly with that, but just an idea.
-
I am sure there are a few camping locally. I am camping (not in unicoi) and am sure some others are. But nothing on Sunday as a planned event.
-
Does 'no ride in the am' mean no ride at all or later in the day? Personally, no ride at all would ruin the day. Later in the day, not so much.

^Agreed. No ride = no good. Why is this being discussed? Due to the rain?
-

Doug does not like getting his Rig dirty! //LMAO// //btt//
-
75, sunshine and no rain since I left at 5am.
"Get muddy, or get off the trail"
( that was an attempt at humor)
-
Nothing to do with mud //;D// Logistics as of now with who will lead that has been on this before. Nothing in stone yet. Will keep you guys posted!
-
The ride is the main thing for me. It'll be the first introduction to my wife and kids of what a jeep is made to do.
-
Who was leading before? Not being sarcastic, just curious.
-
I can go either way on the ride, I've got soccer with the kids in the AM and I am having a hard time persuading them that a forest ride is better this time. But kids can be overruled! I wish the nighttime temps were warmer this time or I would be camping with the family!
-
Who has the most experience/knowledge of Trey mtn. I have never been there due to not having a street legal rig.
I am still down for the trail ride. Just need someone who knows their way around.
TAPATALK
-
Been going up there for at least 6 years.
I think we've been 3 times this month.
It's our favorite place to "get away"
-
Its one big loop. Not that complicated. Those that want to go should still do it and the ones that want to hang at the pavilion can do that.
Sent from a 4g signal.
-
Really simple, almost impossible to get lost. No one should have any issues.
I would suggest airing down just for comfort reasons.
-
Sounds good. I'm down to ride.Saturday morning.

I have been reading and re-reading the gear thread to get an idea of what I do and don't have. The main things I need are:
Tow strap (4WheelParts?)
Jack/Hi-Lift (4WheelParts as well?)
Fire Extuingisher
E-Contact (will do shortly)
IFAK/SFAK (can get tomorrow or before sat anyways)
I also noticed it said required for CORE and preferred for open. If I don't get everything on the list by Saturday, would I still be able to participate under the assumption that this is an open ride? Is there a better thread/section that I should be unloading all these questions in?
Also, I saw that Tray Mtn is not too difficult, so I'm hoping that w/o getting all of the above items I can still be allowed to participate?
-

I wouldn't imagine there would be a problem. After all, it is an open ride and it's Trey mountain. You should be fine. I also have a spare handheld CB I can lend you for the ride if that's what you're missing.

Awesome! We'll def try and make it then!
I appreciate it! I actually work in the trucking business and keep a CB in my truck so I can communicate with my drivers. Just haven't figured out where I want to hard mount mine lol.

I can loan you a strap and first aid kit if needed, but I doubt we would need it on this ride. It'll be nice to have another truck //SLAMIN//
-
I hope the ride is still on. My wife and I both travel for work and have 2 toddlers. Getting out on a weekend day without the kids to have fun doesn't come often lol

Thank you much! I will probably be off tomorrow for the most part due to the rain so I may do some running around and get most of that stuff from 4WP and others. I appreciate it though!
If the ride isn't on any longer I may still run up there w/ a few friends and tackle it!
-
^ with that being said, you're more than welcome to hit it w/ us if the GaTR ride ends up not happening!
-
Is this ride for members only or can anyone join? I am new to your boards and I might be able to ride Sat. and try to meet some folks.

It is an open event for all forum members, not just CORE club members. You have just joined the forum so you are an open member and can come on out!
-
I think the husband already said something about this, but I know that mountain and trail as well as I know my own home. I've drove every vehicle I've owned since I was 21 up there. I have extensively photographed the place. It is literally my favorite hide out in Georgia. I am more than happy to show y'all the layout of Tray Mountain. Morgan

Refer back to the first post in this thread for meeting location and ride time.
This ride is still happening and everyone is invited!

Is there anyone hanging back at the Park to get the grills going or will we need to fire them up when we get there? I know Scott said he may go there for us.
Also, is anyone else camping at the park? I'm heading up Friday with the pop up and staying until Sunday.
Also, here are the other links if you jumped into this late:
