I hope there isn't a swarm of lady bugs like a couple years ago.

I know your sarcasm by now but , from "Trail 1" to Area 51, it IS startling how much rigs & rain change that park sometimes drastically if the time between visits is significant.
glad to see some of you guys got out to ride & look frwrd to pics
-
Well from never even thinking about that section in my TJ .....to actually having to pick my line in the mall crawler is quite the diffference.
-
Back home now, but had a blast.
Was very happy to meet everyone there. Yall made a new guy feel very welcome.
AOP is nuts. The easy trails are not forest service roads. There were some pretty difficult spots for my little YJ on 33's.
Exploded something in a brake drum, bent a shackle, and have tranny fluid pouring out of my rear tcase seal. Cant wait to do it again.
Special thanks to the "small jeep group". Im sure we had the most fun.

Well, if I wasn't having open heart surgery in a week and on lockdown to prevent any chance of catching COVID, I would be there. [flipoff3]

Great trip! Took it easy, just poked around in green trail with 3 other small tire rigs.
I did go up George winter and lost a right rear spring . Thanks to Rob, Steve and roger for figuring out how to get it back in. Winched sideways to a tree, then used a snatch block to come back to rear bumper and lift right rear up enough to to get spring back in place.
Scott F built a 20 ft fire last night, you had to be back 20 feet because it was so hot.
Good times

Thanks to the buncha guys that was willing to help pull line for me, especially goin in knowing it was gonna happen. Dude in the buggy got what he deserved, they coulda waited, and then they got smart about me "F@#$#ng it up for everyone". Karma came along and put him on his lid and he was still trying to get it started when we came out. Id like to make another attempt at LC one day with cheater tires, working brakes, and full RPMs. I really wanna see Pat on it tho, may require a special trip just for that. Thanks again for the patience and assist boys.

I hate I missed it but it was my daughters last Soccer game of the season. Your running the Durango box up front right? Seems that your still holding your own w/o hydro assist.

I suck at getting pics, but here are a couple. None of the actual tent set up. I decided this weekend that I’d turn the tent around. Sucks not being able to load up until the tent is put away. Looking forward to next trip out with it turned around.

I slept in the camper shell this weekend. Im in the process of building a rack for the trailer so everything is lower. Im getting too old to be up on top of my truck trying to get all that setup.

Sweet! I think off the side seems better for that reason. And you can stop on some longer trips to crash w/o Fkn with the jeep.

I havent seen a pic of your setup yet just read about it.

Exactly. Lots of pros to turning around, not many cons. We’ll see how it works out.

if steering with one finger, never getting hot, and never having to worry about breaking/cutting hydro lines is holding your own, then yes, itll do.

Yep. I can tell because I can see in the background where I’m working on my locker [pissed]

I empathize. This is where I discovered my front locker wasn’t working correctly 3 weeks ago. I managed to get up the ledge with it not working thanks to the Treps and a little horsepower.

Of all the years I have went to AOP... I never drove very far
in either direction. When I left Saturday I drove under the
interstate for a little ways. That's the first time I've seen that
big metal bridge over the river. Thought it was pretty cool.

over which river?

The Tennessee River runs through South Pittsburg right before it hits Alabama.
-
Shelby Rhinehart Bridge.
I bet it s not 3 miles after you go under the freeway. Only time I ever went that way was to go to that liquor store that used to be on the tight. Before I quit drinking.

South Pittsburg does a cornbread festival. You can tour the lodge cast iron factory which is super cool.

Same here. Which is your favorite type? Most of the cornbread up there is fried like a pancake. I prefer the old school style though.

Kevin’s going to have to take this off topic conversation and create a cornbread thread if you guys can’t stay focused.

I grew up on dry AF cast-iron cornbread that you had to soak in butter to get down your throat. My mom always like that dry ass cornbread with pot liquor (yuck).
As an adult, I know that sweet casserole cornbread is much better, especially if it has corn pieces in it.

So, my buddy Roger ( red TJ) came up with me to Gatrfest and pokes around in the green trails. We went up George winter on Friday and he had to winch up in a couple spots ( no shame) he has been on a couple rides with me and is has been bit by the wheeling bug.
Today he bought an 8.8 that’s ready to be bolted up, has locker in it already. ( he has front locker)
He is also looking at longarms.
I find it funny because he had his Jeep for 3 years before he took it off road , he got tired of me calling him a mall crawler
-
Roger is a cool guy awesome to see him build up his Jeep 🍻
-
Roger is also a awesome cook.
