Title: Lost an old friend
Post by: Trailabite on March 05, 2020, 01:28:21 PM
Just found out that one of my old high school running buddies passed away on Monday. He suffered from Diabetes and something called Scleroderma (a form of arthritis). This sucks to hear, I have been trying to get a hold of him for several years, played phone tag a few times but never was able to connect. We were pretty good friends but our lives went in different directions. The summer between our Sophmore and junior year we were out camping about a mile away from his home one night and he passed out (result of diabetes) and I carried him to his parents, which turned out to saving his life that night. Even back then he had a love for music and we used to make fun of him and harass him about because we thought his music was weird (it wasn't country lol). Anyways, he actually started a heavy metal band our senior year of high school and was able to make a living out of doing it.

Here's a video from back in the day, I think around 92 to 94. He's the lead singer:

I think I remember the band name, but I'm not sure.  I can see where that music would have made it back then...very GnR and Motley Crew sounding.

Sorry for your loss.  Diabetes and being in a band is a dangerous combination...lots of booze and strange eating patterns.

Do you know the cause of death?

Sounds like the Scleroderma played a big part.

I think the band Kid Wikkid is still around in some form. He started and then had to back out years later. The Scleoderma was starting to have an effect on his hands and voice.

that sucks, Chuck.
I'm real sorry you lost a bud

He was fortunate to have friends like you .

Friends remembering shared moments & special times - as well as things we create , like his music - are how we continue to exist after passing , so don't forget to think about him .

Did some research

Kid Wikkid in early 80's was Sebastian Bach's first band.

Kidd Wikkid was from Montana in the early 90's with Patrick....

I like this track

^yep, that's Kidd with 2 d's. Same type of music, 2 totally different bands. I think my friend stayed in and around Texas.
