I'm planning on heading up to N.GA on Labor Day (Monday), thinking about retracing the 2013 January FS Ride route (Trey Mtn, Charlies Creek, Bell Mtn). Just seeing if anyone else would be interested. We can also alter the route if there are other trails people want to hit (Winding Stair Gap, Hawk Mtn, etc).
MEETING LOCATION: Bethel Church on Bethel Road (just across the road from Tray Mtn). Address: 45 Bethel Road - Sautee Nacoochee, GA 30571
MEETING TIME: 10 AM, leave at ~10:10
LATE MEETUP LOCATION: Parking lot at Unicoi State Park Lake (~11:30-11:45 depending on the speed at which Tray Mtn is completed)
PROPOSED ROUTE:
-Tray Mtn
-Bathroom break @ Unicoi State Park Lake
-35 - 40 min. drive to Tallulah River Road
-Lunch
-Charlies Creek
-15-20 min. drive to Bell Mtn

We are meeting up with "willy and Jen" Monday at 10 at shake rag road/lake view gas station( bell mountain rd) but we are up for trying out new trails. I've been to trey, FS rd 163, which comes out on Persimon which leads to Charlie's creek. Willy hasn't been to bell, not sure about trey. Where are you coming from? We are both in Hiawassee. Start at trey?

However, like I said, I'm up for anything if somewhere has other trails they want to hit. They are plenty of good FS roads around.

Nasty, how far away from the meeting spot are you? If we wait too late it can make for a long day. No time for possible problems etc.

I will say, it is about a 35 minute drive from Tray Mtn to Charlies Creek, so as long as everyone is OK with that then this route works. Otherwise we can always choose somewhere else.

Wish I was off tomorrow! Bethel Church is a great meeting place (married my wife there) and I havent rode Tray Mountain since I was a kid! Hit yall up next time though hopefully.

So you are starting Tray at a different entrance and coming out at Unicoi where I believe mrmike and started at last time. I may just meet you there at the bathroom/lake area then since I just did Tray a couple weeks ago and ride over to Bell with you guys from there.

I'd love to tag along tomorrow but can't. A couple questions if I may:
Could a stock Jeep (JK) make it over these trails?
Does anyone have GPS coordinates for FS trails, especially the ones your going on?

Shouldn't be a problem. They are mainly just FS roads.

I saw some mention meeting at the Dawsonville Home Depot at 9:00 to go up.
Is that still happening or is everyone just planning on meeting onsite at 10:00?
