Jim (luvnmy06tj) and I are planning to go to Morris on May 17th. Jim is using the trip as a break-in of his new parts. I am planning for it to be a 1 day trip by leaving early in the morning and coming back in the afternoon. Post up if you are planning to attend with us. Also, is there anything special we need to do to go to Morris, such as call ahead?

Make sure it is a weekend they are open, every other weekend, and show up.
EDIT looks like they took that off the website and it says they are open almost every weekend.
Sent off camber

I may join in on this. I will have to see once we get closer

I'm almost as excited for this trip as I am Windrock! Breaking in new parts... //smoke//

You don't have to call ahead, but a lot of the time there is not anybody at the park to pay. You can get Kris Morris' number off of his website and give him a call on your way so that he can unlock the gate and collect. I will probably be down to go, just have to wait and see if anything comes up.
-
Thanks, I'll call them on the way. I hope it works out for everyone interested in going out

I am interested in coming, I want to take my KL trailhawk off road. Do you guys think that it will be able to do some trails there being stock?
-
Not much you could do at MM with that rig. You could ride around but still not alot of bypasses for you.

I am interested in seeing the Trailhawk do its thing. I know the base trails are capable of being covered by a base rubicon, and I suspect by any base 4wd. I want you to set your expectations appropriately and not risk damage to the vehicle, but I will tell you that if you cannot take the trailhawk on all of the trails, there will be a seat available so you can have some fun.
-
Great! Count me in I will be there, I am excited to see what the hawk can do too, also I will take you up on the ride along for the trails I can't do.
Is there a time when the group will meet up?
-
Now I want to go to win the internet so I can get a pic of the two Cherokees.
-
9 am local time. Do you have a cb? If not, you should get one.
-
Just ordered a CB handheld. 9 AM sounds good to me.

Remember, you may gain an hour going over there. Since this is likely your first time with us, bring drinks, snacks, and food for yourself and your crew (no hazing going on here) for the day. I bring a spare change of clothes because i never know what will happen. Have a full tank of gas, well, enough that you are positive you will not run out. I burn about 5 gallons per day on the trail with the old 4.0 i6, but I generally start with a full tank. Grab my phone number from the GATR phone list thread. Call me if you are running late. We will likely be on channel 7, but channel 13 is a possibility if 7 is crowded.

You WILL gain an hour :)
I may join for a day trip as well. Shoot, may camp if anyone is hanging. We'll see as we get closer.

I wasn't sure where he lived, so I left it open! I am not planning to camp, but...that may be doable.
-
I'm out. This conflicts with the Topless Event in Sharpsburg, already committed to that.

I was surprised that you were interested in this outing.

Wasn't paying attention to my dates

I am planning on going. How many are going so far?
-
Jorge, the point of this trip was for Jim to get to test his new setup before Windrock, but he likely will not have the gearing done in time for this event (tisk, tisk). :)
Let's see how many people are interested, otherwise it may get cancelled.
I'm still committed, if we can get a crew together, so post up if you're 100% in for Morris if there are enough people (say, 4 rigs).
-
I am still ready to do this. I will probably come the that Friday and get a hotel for the night. Let me know if it is 100% so I can arrange things. Thanks guys

Go a little further and go to gray rock. It's open that weekend.
-
Well, today did not go as planned, so I'm out for the 17th so I can wrap up repairs and upgrades on the green machine in time for Windrock. Sorry to bail on my own trip!

Meant GR, not WR.

Unfortunately my lack of knowledge has caused my jeep to remain in the good hands of All South until after the 17th, I will not be able to make this. //:'(//
