Title: Beginner trail near sandy springs / fulton county
Post by: stugatza on May 13, 2023, 01:14:14 PM
hi all -
Trying to find a simple trail near Sandy Springs in Fulton County.  Have a 95YJ on a small lift w/ 33s.  Need to be able to ride to and survive to ride home :-).

Appreciate all recommendations.

Best,
Brook

There is not much in Georgia that you have to worry about

That map will help you find dirt roads

Download the Avenza map app, and go to  https://www.fs.usda.gov/main/conf/maps-pubs (https://www.fs.usda.gov/main/conf/maps-pubs)

Download the maps listed in the following section:
You have to load them into Avenza.

Tons of forestry roads and great views.  Very little will be challenging. Be aware closed and locked gates are unfortunately pretty common preventing access. Tray Mountain is closed indefinitely. Charlie’s Creek has some deep water crossing depending on the weather , but I heard part of it might closing as well. Please stay on the marked trails, so more of the forestry roads don’t get shut down as well.

Most OHVs are for SxS, but Beasley Knob is for full sized 4x4s. There are a few trails you would want to avoid there or accept the possibility of damage. But if it’s dry, most of it is pretty tame as well.
