Title: A friend's father needs help near Powder Springs...
Post by: Logan on November 11, 2009, 11:39:13 AM
Here is what she sent me

got a situation...
My dad needs help but it's not an emergency. I can't get to him to help out because of the distance, and prior obligations, but I was wondering if you could help out.

He took his car for emissions, and it failed. Apparently two valves... (Idle air control valve and the ERG exhaust recycle valve) need to be replaced. He has recently had some surgery and can't repair his car himself.

I was wondering if you had an afternoon this week or weekend day this weekend you'd be willing to pull the valves and replace them for him?

I would go help, but I'm stuck here in Statesboro until the 22nd. If anyone in the area can give him hand, please PM me. To my understanding he's willing to repay in beer and food.

If I was home, no problem. But I won't be home for a while.

Same deal for me, it's looking like I'm going to be helping him, when I'm home for Thanksgiving.

What kind of car is it?
I might be able to; I'm not too far away in Marietta.

I think it is a 95 Nissan pickup. From talking to her yesterday it sounds like he's willing to put it off until Thanksgiving week, to save up money for parts, so I should be able to get to it now.

2.4 or 3.0?

Whew doggie!
The EGR alone ranges from 120 - 265
They're proud of that part!
IAC isn't far off either.

Well, let me know if you need a hand. I just looked at the diagram & it should be pretty easy.

If it ends up being around Thanksgiving, let me know. I can help Friday and some on Saturday.
