Moving to Denver... but not with Seth
« on: September 28, 2014, 10:09:44 PM »
I could basically just link to Seth's thread, because oddly enough our situations are almost identical.  I've taken a new role with my company that allows us to move to Colorado!   //letseat//

My wife and I have always talked about living out there.  And last Saturday the opportunity started to become real.  Within a week it was official.  We figured that if we were ever going to do it, this was the time.  We also figured that if we didn't, we'd be kicking ourselves down the road.  Life it short, carpe diem, etc, etc, etc.

We'll also be renting initially, and are looking in the Parker area.  Our timeline is very quick, and we will be out there by December 5th.

As for the Jeep.  I had been toying around with the idea of selling and doing something different.  I'd decided on an LJ build before the LJ threads started popping up (well, not before Larry's).  Since the Jeep is basically paid off, we are going to sell it and bring in some cash.  Unlike Seth, we are on the hook for the move.  I'm going to bring the JK back to stock and sell it that way.  Work on that has just started and will add up given the sheetmetal damage I've incurred.   //no//

If all goes well, I'll start a new build in time for next season.

We're really excited... our families a little less so. A little bittersweet for us for lots of reasons... one of which is the great friendships in the GATR group.

Looking forward to GATRfest!   //cheers2//

Congratulations on the relo!

Damn, selling the Jeep...I sure didn't see that coming!  Good luck with the conversion, but at least they will not be able to complain about mileage being too high.

Congrats!  It's tough to see you leave but I'm happy for you and your family.  I know you have worked hard for the position and Colorado is awesome!  Good luck...how will the WJM deal with this shakeup?

Congratulations!

I had an offer to move out last December but we are too anchored here with 2 teenage daughters in high school, RanRyn, elderly parents, a lake house, best friends etc

So enjoy the ride!

I'm going to be a passenger at GATR fest actually!  My friend Don just bought a JKU (white) with an exceptional parts list and this will be his first ride.  I'll be shotgun with him...

Thanks!  WJM isn't going away.  What makes you think I'm not going to Colorado to expand our reach?
