Title: Stupid toyota question..
Post by: cjgolfer7 on July 24, 2014, 06:35:19 PM
This will probably seem like a stupid question but I've never owned a toyota and can't really find anything about it. Ive got an 85 4runner that has a 22re and ac. Ac doesnt blow cold and I ride with the top off so..I dont see any need for the compressor.  It seems like it constantly is slowly running and makes a good amount of noise. So the question is can I just cut the drive belt off if its only drivingbthe compreesor? Or will it throw something off?

Yes the belt that drives the compressor only drives it, so you can ditch it with out any worries.  You can even unbolt and remove the compressor if you don't plan on ever fixing the ac.

Perfect thanks for your help Scott.  This is my first toyota so its all new. But I really like this little guy so hopefully he'll be on the trails before to long.
