This is an open ride, and our Rig Requirements are not mandatory, but are preferred. Please do try to comply in every way possible.

Thanks.
If anyone is bringing a friend with a rig please note it.
-
I got a text from a new member saying his forum request is pending. Handle "LJ". His name is Max and he plans to join us tomorrow. Please add him to the list.
-
I will be there in my little Jeep Patriot....have to leave after lunch. ....
-
Updated! Do I hear 80??
-
I have a friend that is supposed to be there tommorrow. He drives a Hummer. Daniel is his name, not positive he is coming
-
I am out. Got to take my son car shopping.

What a blast! We had a great time, thanks again for putting this all together. Thanks for the PBJ lunch action too. Blue taco definitely has some lift kit needs after dragging it through some of those ruts, but she pulled through. Cheers

I would like to thank everyone who helped to put this ride together. I have to say that I thought it was gonna be a fiasco with that many 4x4s going down the highways and trails. This ride was well organized and everyone made me and my wife feel welcomed even though we had some issues on the trail. I look forward to attending future rides.

Yup was fun thanks to all the staff and core members that helped
-
Duck tape and tie strap got me off the trail.
Got home safe and sound.. Stop by Home Depot and got nut and washer. And repaired in Dahlonega..
Thanks all that helped and the person with the keen eye and found the bolt.
I hope all made it home safe

Glad the duct tape held it in place. We just got off the last trail around 8pm.

This post should find it's way to on the GATR literature.... Kind of sums up what this club is all about--- trail riding, the fact that stuff happens, team work, fun, safety, and respect.
-
Had a great time yesterday. Thanks for letting us tag along. Special thanks to the folks that organize it all.
-

Big respect to Doug and the captains. I'm fencing with myself the idea of trading my taco in for a jeep. I'm torn between my love of toyota and the kickass of jeep. As Wayne and Garth once said, "We're not worthy." /cheers

Before you do, start a thread here asking for advice!

I've realized I have a romance with my tacoma (Tacomance?)... I can't give her up on trade for a proper Jeep. Irrationally perhaps this little truck has been a vehicle I've wanted since they appeared when i was a kid some 20 years ago, and just able to afford past year. My previous '96 dodge was also in many respects a part of my family for a long time, rode til the wheels were worth more than the vehicle itself before I sold it. Figure I'll do the same again.
I'm going to stretch my DD for now. Weld/repair/tire shop on hwy 124 is going to hook me up with some bigger (lightly used) trail tires for a hundred bucks on part trade this weekend, that'l be nice.
The old man emu kits look like a great objective for my 2015 upgrade. Just had to drop about 10k in hospital bills for wife's emergency birth so..... yeah, stuff!
Link to suspension kit i've been eyeballing for a year now... Friggin Aussies have done some homework:
http://www.oldmanemu.com.au/old-man-emu-suspension-selector/ (http://www.oldmanemu.com.au/old-man-emu-suspension-selector/)
Thanks again for ride, since I can't crawl or anything I've been missing the awesome of GATR since last Jan's ride. But I do greatly appreciate the planning, company I met, and support. I'll stop rambling now.
Cheers

I get it...once you have a truck it is hard to go without one. I'd put a couple of grand into an XJ beater before dumping a bunch of money into a dd truck, if I wanted to go where GATR normally goes.

Roger that, and it echo's what everyone who knows says. With 0 space for an extra vehicle (maybe a dirtbike, christ my wife would throttle my neck still tho) I got no place to park another vehicle. I do get a bit of offroad junkie fix drooling over half the threads on the forum and seeing who comes to the forest service rides..... and drool is cheap.
