DO NOT LET A DIESEL RUN OUT OF FUEL {no} I cranked the sub, backed down the drive (steep) and it pooped out. I knew instantly what it was considering I was heading to get fuel anyway. Had to winch it back up the drive to a relatively flat spot. Spent a good hour priming and cranking and had to use the Jeep to keep battery flow up. I almost had it cranked when the batteries started fading :fu( Dang, never again!!

New ones will self prime but now you know about old ones.
Immediately change the fuel filter cause u just sucked up all the shaizu.

On my to do list... >:(

That sucks. After doing all my fuel work on the Ford I just had to turn the key to the ON position 3 times, each time for about 30 seconds and it was good to go. Probably didnt even require all of that

Jeremy thats just for a filter change isn't? If the injector pump runs out its a lot longer process.
I made the mistake once on the hwy lol

Older trucks are worse. I really thought I was gonna kill the batteries. Each time I cranked it got weaker and weaker. If I was on the highway, I would have been screwed. But atleast I know how far I can go once the needle is on E </LMAO/>

At 50 miles my fuel light comes on and I start looking for fuel.

Holy crap, that's crazy %)

I did that a couple times in the bus on the road. I had to pulled the Suerflow water pump out from under the sink and used it to prime the system it builds up 60psi and worked. Started right up! Of course I was there for a while trying to get it to run first when I thought of that pump.

My 03 and 12 have the same primer on them if you run it dry.
