Hey group, lot of great information on this site, Thank You. I'm Brent and live in Canton. I've had 4x4 trucks since I was 16 and my current is a Chevrolet Z71. I've done a good bit of off road riding but my trucks have always been nice and my daily drivers so I've not been active on the serious off roading.
I just got my first Jeep, 97 TJ 4.0 5 speed with 6" lift and 35's, and want to get out and enjoy what North Georgia has to offer. I wish I could join the ride this coming weekend but I am in the middle of a project on my Jeep and it won't be ready by this weekend.
I'm looking for some recommendations for some good trails and camping for a family trip. Wife and 3 kids (9,7, & 5) want to get out, camp and do some off roading. Since the kids will be with me, nothing too serious but I want to get an idea of what this Jeep is capable of. My neighbor that has new stock JK wants to go to with is kids.
Thanks,
Brent Bouknight

I thought I had put a picture in my signature but I guess not. Here is one with the soft top on that wont be on it tomorrow. Tomorrow the bikini top, body armor 1/2 doors, and the Smittybuilt CArgo Restraint System get put on. Will post updated pic tomorrow after the conversion.

Just wanted to post some updated pictures from last weekend's project. (Spilled over to today). Took out interior painted and put back in with new seat covers. Installed cargo restraint system, new stereo, new 35" BFG Mud Terrains, new brakes calipers / rotorsrs / pads and hoses. Put on cargo rack, new flow master muffler, and got all my lights working. It's in the shop now getting the body lift and spring spacers taken out and a 4" rough country lift put on along with 4.53 (I think but can't remember for sure) gears put in. Also putting on a winch.

Nice looking Tj. What kind of Mesh top is that? I think it looks pretty sweet.
-
It's the smittybuilt and I couldn't be happier with it.

Nice Jeep, we just completed a ride at Gulches that for my family was what you are talking about. Gulches, Adventure Offroad Park, and Choccolocco parks all have camping.
-
Jeep looks good. What kind of seat covers?
-
The seat covers are also Smittybuilt Neoprean Seat covers. They were on sale, but the fronts and get the rear seat free.
Thanks for the offroading / camping park suggestions. We're going this weekend and we settled on camping on my friends land in Blue Ridge (has a cabin for the ladies while the boys get to sleep in tents and eat meat cooked over a fire and go 3 days without a shower ) and riding the service roads and parks in the area. We're going to ride trails found on the Chattahoochee-Oconee motor vehicle use map found on this forum. Thank You.
