Best I remember it. Was 1 or 2 trails of "crawling" the rest seemed to be more gas and let the locker(s) and tires work. Wont be there, think I am riding Hale that weekend
Better have some good recovery points as this place has a ton of loose rock! Only been there once, but it is either buggy land or built land. Not a lot for smaller rigs to do here. If I remember right there was not alot of bypasses either. //SLAMIN//

Yes, I remember gassing it up a certain hill and bending my rear shock mount. Same hill Larry destroyed the front knuckle too. //SLAMIN//

I made it up boat ramp; it was only half wet and it took spinning the tires a bit to warm them up. With the full water flow I assume it would be a lot harder, and maybe need a running start.
I was trying to get a group together to go to Morris the weekend before... Definitely hitting you guys up instead!
Ok, newbie question and still tying to navigate the forum, open ride means i can attend even though i have no club affiliation yet, right?

There is another video when Danny was driving and kicked a rock down the hill towards you.
I'm getting my lift kit and winch installed this coming weekend at Allsouth Autosports for this ride. And every future ride too!!! Usually, I would install it myself, but I just don't have the time. Thanks Allsouth!!!
FOr this ride I noticed that moderate trails require a roll cage, is that really true? You will be fine. You just have to understand this park has a lot of loose rock. You try and pick a line and hope you can stay there. Some rocks will move under your tires. It's just a little different wheeling style.
Teraflex 2.5" with shocksI'm getting my lift kit and winch installed this coming weekend at Allsouth Autosports for this ride. And every future ride too!!! Usually, I would install it myself, but I just don't have the time. Thanks Allsouth!!!
What lift are you doing?
Is everyone camping is basically the same spot? I'll be rolling in on Friday afternoon ish

You will love the Teraflex kit! It works great on the JK's. Chocco is a great place to test it out too.

I got the TF 2.5 coil lift and I have a very high amount of flex even with shock extenders, when I get flat fenders and better shocks it will open up alot more!.

Odorless? Not after a 90 degree day on the trails! But Chocco has decent showers thankfully.
So stoked for this ride! You'll get mud if its muddy. Hoping it won't be
Anyone know if they have pressure washing stations there? Want to get mud off as soon as possible.
Btw how are some of u going without top or doors? Not concerned about filling the jeep with mud?
Thanks!

Do you need to reserve a campsite at Choco? Going in Friday night.
They have a large field for camping...I don't believe a reservation is required....I didn't last time and had no problem.Do you need to reserve a campsite at Choco? Going in Friday night.
This.
For some reason, it looks like the Choccolocco map has been removed from the trail map section. So, in case anybody wants to print it early...
Sorry last question. Meetup is at 9 am saturday. Should I assume that is central time? Thanks!
I am not going to be able to camp but I will be there early Saturday and stay all day.Same here, I had Friday off, but the key word is had.
Wish I could make this one....but Ive got bigger things going on this weekend. Next ride I make I will have a circular piece of metal on my hand!
You guys have fun! Post photos and video so I can watch them on my honeymoon! </LMAO/>

Ready to be in the woods! {letseat}Ditto. Need to flex out the new suspension.
Doesn't look like I'll be making this one. No insurance on the jeep and no tow pig.
The impossible just happened...
I broke my transfer case in Utah, so Adam (AcGiddens) found a guy on CL that had a np231 with a sye kit already installed (0 miles since the rebuild). The guy said the planetary and input shaft would need to be changed to fit my transmission. I already planned on changing them since they are very rarely the same spline count. I just asked one of our technicians to count the splines and see what I need to have over nighted from Advance Adapters ($250.00 parts - $50+ shipping).
Long story short - They are the same spline count - no over night parts needed //monk// //bluesbrothers// :terror :terror :wav
I'll be putting this back together tomorrow, hopefully everything goes smotth

Just to confirm...I think we've said this before, but all meetings time are EASTERN, correct?
with 25 plus rigs, how many groups would you guys normally be splitting off into.

The park is fairly small but easy to get around. 3 groups will work well. Friday is a "free" ride as people are coming in at all different times. Saturday consists of the drivers meeting and then we will spilt groups accordingly. Time is based on where we are, not from where we are from </BEER/>
How do you know the toothbrush was invented in Alabama?
Cause if it were invented anywhere else it would have been called a teethbrush!!
Just hitched up to the wagon train for Saturday. First time out with GATR, so hoping for a good time. Planning on bringing my 5yo son for anyone else bringing kids.
Yes. This is a very family oriented club. Kids, wives and girlfriends on most all of the rides.

As long as you don't bring your wife and girlfriend on the same ride.....that could be problematic.

Hopefully 3 groups

OK, if my math is correct that is 8 or 9 rigs per group, how many normally in the Built/ hard group.
I would like to see more of the park than I did last Dec, it was 40 deg and raining and I left my top at the house needless to say I did not stay all day.
Man if that weather report holds and we do not get too much rain thurs and fri it should a great day to wheel, no dust
Just installed some chromos in my D30 I got off CL for the weekend!

Put those shafts in and now I'm getting a shimmy at 45 and my front right caliper is dragging... F!!!

Just an idea
Grease the slides on the calipers and double check all your bolts.
Also, one time I was moving a wheel around and bounced it a little in the garage and lost a balancing weight, one if the stick ons. Could you have lost a weight?
There is another group coming in so hopefully we can nab all the shady spots to camp. If not, we are all gonna bake. Groceries are bought, 90% packed and ready to roll!
My wife has the Jeep so detailed for her summer time convertible, and I mean every crack with a Q-tip kind of detailed, that I'm not sure when she will let me go again. Still have to fix the transfer case shifter, skids, and bead lock bolts from the Moab trip. Got to get my mini van back from Allsouth first! </LMAO/>
That rain is just a dust killer. Place drains great. Y'all will have a blast.
</BEER/> </BEER/> </BEER/> </BEER/>
When you think you are turning into someones back yard, stay the course.Lol......Good to know
pulled the fuel tank and beat the HE!! out of the skid to straighten it back out. My fuel tank was up squeaking against the floor of the Jeep. I lost about 20lbs in mud and can now hold an extra 5 gallons of fuel </LMAO/>
I'm all packed and read to roll. Heading out early AM. See y'all then!
I am packed and rolling at 7 and will have 3 others jeeps meeting me to follow in.
Steak N Shake in Cartersville on Main Street at 7 amThat's a bit outta my way. See you guys there.
Are you taking 20 west?
