Some of you may remember a friend that I brought up from Florida for first our GaterFest out at River Rock. Her name was Charlene and she drove her own jeep, a black 2 door JK. As some of you know she had a heart transplant several years ago that dint take and was not expected to live to see her son graduate, which, she did get to watch last year. My wife just called to let me know that she suffered a major stroke last night and is in the hospital and due to her failing heart there's not much they can do for her.
So please say a prayer her and her family!

Very nice lady. Prayers incoming.

Didn't get to meet her because I hadn't joined the group yet, but my heart and prayers go out to her and her family.

I just got off the phone with her husband and apparently she is non-responsive at this point. They will give her another 48 hours and if there is no response they will pull the plug!

Chuck Thanks for posting this here. I heard this and am very saddened. She has had so many issues and always beat every one and has always had a great attitude. We had a great time with them at Jeep Beach and saw them a dozen times over the 4 days. This is going to be tough on their son too. They are all Jeepers. The local Jeep community is there for them.

sorry to hear this

Good news. She improved greatly and now she is at home.

Here's an update from Charlene's husband:
Yesterday afternoon I watched Charlene sit herself up in bed. That is not all, She stood up and took a few baby steps to use the bathroom. She was also determined to go to the club social at Woody's BBQ in Sebastian. I reminded her that it was an hour north drive there and that she would be wore out. She said she would be fine and that she wanted to ride in her Jeep. So I told my stubborn wife if she can get into Jeep I would drive her. She climbed a step stool and got in her Jeep! When we got back she told me I am tried but I got to ride in my Jeep. I didn't think she was going to be able to get in her Jeep. I have created a Jeep'n Monster! I think in her eyes it is give me my Jeep or give death! We know which one she has chosen! She is one stubborn and tough woman and I love her.
She went to the Nero and she told him how a stroke sucks! He was up front with her and said "With the size stroke you had. You should no longer be here. You could be combmowtoast (spelling). He is just amazed the amount of progress she has had already. They can't do anything with the blood clot that is there. What he can do is try to prevent another one from happening.

Such an amazing person. I only know from what I've read here about here but she is simply amazing. So glad things are better and hope she gets a chance so sit in the drver seat again soon too. Made me shed a tear //salute// //salute//

Apparently she tried to get out of bed on her own last and fell. She got bruised up from but is ok for the most part. She's really hard headed lol.

This is truly an amazing story. Amazing because those with faith know there's only one reason she's here. Her work here is not done, she has more hearts to touch... mine being one. I don't know her and just saw this post. I will include her in my prayers.

I got a call last night from Kent (Charlene's Husband). They will be putting Charlene on hospice on Monday. Basically her body is starting to shut, her heart is failing and her memory is starting to fade. While she can still think on her, she made the decision with the doctor to be removed from her meds that are keeping her alive. The process is starting today! Her husband and a few friends are taking her to Disney in Orlando tomorrow to spend the day. Once off the meds they expect her to only live 4 to 5 days.
For those of you that know Kent and Charlene and or are friends with them on Face Book - PLEASE do not post anything on Face Book as they have asked for Privacy.

Thanks for the update Chuck, she was a very sweet lady and left an impression on most of us when we met them at RR for the first time. I will continue praying for their family through this sad time.

Hate to hear the news. Will keep her and family in prayers.
