You could use a 33 as a spare just as well; anything close that holds air will get yiou off the trail.

i dont have a bumper, yes it will fit. i dont have a big boy rear bumper yet, and a 35 will be ok, for road use, i only keep it on now when traveling to wheeling events, then i leave it at camp.   at home it will sit
in the garage.  i have AAA

Kent,

For your spare you need to either buy a wheel with the needed bolt pattern and backspace, then find a tire, or find a tire and buy a wheel to match.  Or better still, find a wheel and tire already mounted that works.  IMO, if you're running 17" wheels then a 17" wheel for the spare makes the most sense.

My father-in-law has a brand new Dick Cepek mud country in a 315/75/16 (35x12.5x16) he would sell. It still has the sticker on it and has been stored in his garage for about 3 months. He got it in a bundle at the 4wheelparts jeepfest back in August. I think he wants $175 for it. LMK if your interested.

I will keep it in mind, im thinking i can find a spare wheel/tire combo for less.  new tire is nice but i dont want to spend that much if i can help it.  i looked at the tire, very nice looking btw.

Get a cheap black wheel, (rock crawler, d window) people call then by different names. Should be less than $100

Try one of those side of the road used tire/rim shops. You don't need a alloy rim for your spare, see if they have  a stock steel Jeep take off rim. You should be able to land one of them for $50 or less. I was going to buy 4 mint condition alloy Jeep rims for $100.... patience will reap you coin in your pocket. In the worst case, if your going to TN and you don't have one bring your 33". If you leave your spare at camp, like most of us, your going to rely on using someone elses tire to get you back to camp anyways.

i may do that, but was trying to keep it in the club.  i may see if one of those places has a 5x5 pattern 17inch rim they can mount my spare i got.  its a diff brand than what i have but just need something to keep
back at the camp site incase i need it.

The black steel Cragars I have (17x9) were less than $80 at Discount Tire.  They did have to order them from California though.

JK is 5x5.5"...IIRC

Check CL, hardlinecrawlers, Pirate4x4 and JF for a couple of weeks and you'll stumble on a deal.  You may get a tire with it already mounted on a wheel.
