Well guys and gals, it's with great sorrow and excitement that I say, the wife and I are moving to Phoenix. She just received word that she got the job offer.
I know that I have only been part of the club for a short period of time but I have gotten to know a lot of you in here pretty damn well and have learned a lot because I never felt intimidated or that anyone thought less of anyone else. All were equals even if our rigs were not. And for this, I cannot thank you enough. The brotherhood that is in this group is irreplaceable and I can only hope to find a group in the west as welcoming as you all have been.
This will be a quick transition as we will need to be in Phoenix by the 1st of 2014, so it looks as though Windrock will be my last ride.
I thank you all and hope to see you this weekend at Allsouth.
-
Wow! Hate to see you leave Richard but good luck with the transition.
-
😭😭😭😭😭😭 when you said you were moving west we all thought you meant you were moving to Carrollton...
It has been a blast man! Great times out on the trail and hanging out, especially at Fatz haha. Definitely going to miss you, gonna try my hardest to make it to Allsouth if I don't have to work.
-
Well damn. Hate to see you go but you are going to love the wheeling and its less than 500 miles to Moab.

Damn Richard. Sorry to see you leave, it's been a pleasure riding with you. Have fun on all those trails out West //SLAMIN//
-
I know, it has been a blast and I'm definitely gonna miss the East Coast terrain. But I'm not out, I will be traveling back to GA often so if it falls on an event weekend, then I'm just gonna have to ride with someone and be their personal photographer.
Plus, I will see all of you when you come out to Moab!!!

Damn. Where in Phoenix? I spent about 6 months in North Scottsdale back in 2005. What a great place to live. Close to San Diego also. The people I knew it there were really into quads, so you might have an additional hobby.
You will be missed in the club. I expect to see you in Moab next year.
Congratulations to both of you. She didn't happen to get a job with Cox...did she?
-
Glad to hear. You seemed pretty excited about it last time you were over. We will have to get a drink before you go

Well I hate to hear that your moving. But I hope that your ventures bring you and your wife great joy. You are going to be missed here in the good old south. It has been great wheeling with and I plan on seeing you in the future. Make sure you keep up with the forums. Also its not to late you can still make GaTR clause.

We'll miss you but Arizona sounds like a cool adventure for sure. Best of luck!
-
Sounds like a Moab reunion will be in your future! I enjoying hanging out with you on the rides, try to sneak some more parts for the jeep in with the movers with out the wife seeing so you have some goodies when you unpack there. //BEER//
-
Congrats to your wife. I know that AZ has some balls out wheeling. Makes what we do look weak. A lot of the trails are like taking a can open to sheet metal.
-
Its been fun building up our JK's together Richard, we'll have to catch up out west as some of the other guys have proposed. Good luck with the next phase of your life //cheers2//.
-
Congratulations!
Life moves fast, so hang on!
-
Thanks all, looking forward to it, and I will continue to add my .02. I promise.
Got a lot to do the next month and a half.

Good luck with your transition out west... Share some of your wheeling pics... I never got to meet you in person but it was fun to chat with you on the forum...
-
Congrats and good luck. Just cause you move out of state doesn't mean you gotta leave. I am pretty sure the internet reaches that far west.
I look forward to you photos of the west coast wheeling and making the rest of us jealous.
-
Good luck. You can def keep up with us on the forum. Hope to see you in Moab sometime.
Randy
-
So true. I am not leaving the forum, just leaving the state. Plus, it will only be a few years and more than likely be back to GA.
I will be sure to post pics and vids of out west.
-
Come on, time to tell the truth, Richard...your wife saw your body damage from this weekend and is making you hang up your off-roading boots.
Richard - "But, honey, the guys will think I'm a wimp if I tell them that"
Richard's wife - "Fine, tell them we're moving away! Tell them whatever you want! But you are NOT TAKING THAT JEEP OFF-ROAD AGAIN!"
//LMAO//
-
I keed, I keed...
Sucks to see you go, man...we will meet on trails again someday, hopefully!
-
Holy crap. LOL!! If we weren't actually moving to Phoenix that would probably be how The story would go.
Truthfully she was pretty cool about it
-
Speaking from someone who lives out west, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Stay where you are for a while longer.
-
Good Luck,
Phoenix is pretty cool. I go out there a couple times per year for work. I see a lot of built up Jeeps every time I go.

Wish I could bro, but this move is going to be a big financial bump for us both.
-
Totally understandable. I can't wait for a big boy job, in the mean time I love this OT at work.
-
Richard, Congratulations on the job situation! I believe I heard there would be an increase in pay as well? So, that means more parts, upgrades, and mods for your rig right? //;D//
It's sad to see you go, you've been an awesome help, and I really appreciate all the advice and the explanation of mods as I try to learn. It was good wheeling with you. Good luck out west, looking forward to when you can make it back. Oscar mike //salute//

Thanks Jim. Well, there have been some change since I posted this. Apparently my boss's boss does not support me working remotely so either I get a job with the other sector in KC or I get a job in Phoenix.
We will see.

the weather is PRICELESS!!! It's 70* sun is out, wind is blowing and I can't stop smiling. Just arrived into Phoenix this afternoon and have had the windows open and the sunroof back all day. Love it.
-
Good deal! Glad you're enjoying it. That's better weather than here, and MUCH better weather than up north.
-
I hope you still love it in summer.
-
Sounds like your enjoying it. Be sure to post up some pics from the trails when you get out there!
-
Glad you are enjoying the weather. Sounds pretty awesome! We'll miss ya here man.

The ASU females make Phoenix a wonderful place to be.
For awesome steaks, go to Mastro's. Use someone else's credit card ;)
Be prepared for 90 degree temp at 7 am in the summer...awesome!

even more so Kirk. I love 110* weather. Lived out here a while back when stationed in Tucson. So I know what the summer will bring. Can't wait for it.

I've been at it for awhile and been riding with many others that have lots more experience than me....seems like we ways learn something new
-
Nothing beats seat time.
-
Totally agree. But I don't think it will take Kent years to be up to par!!!
-
This. ^^ And what Tony said. Always learning something new. I've learned so much in such a short period of time. Can't wait to learn more and further develop my skill.... if you can call it that. Perhaps sheer determination is a better description right now?
