Title: Thanks Allsouth!
Post by: Alexspur84 on January 16, 2014, 07:44:48 PM
Just had Danny do some Poisson rock sliders on my Jk after I smashed them at Adventure ORV a few months ago. Quote came in 30% less than competitors and work was done super fast.

Thanks again, highly recommend them!!

I witnessed the rocker panel dent at Adventure.
Glad it will be the last.
Congrats on the sliders!

Do those go under the body? Looks like they stop at the rolled edge?

Ben is right on.  You need more to protect the body.

So I guess I was right on that question. What is the purpose of the "sliders" if they don't protect the body under it? New to me.

what is shown in the pictures are not sliders, they are body armor.  He will need either body or frame mounted sliders to offer the first layer of protection, the body armor is 2nd layer protection.

Makes sense. I knew there had to be more to this. But when I hear slider, I get to thinking...

He actually had pretty major damage to the pinch weld/body seem, the body damage went up the fenders almost all the way to the hood. So he choose to pull, straighten, & repair the fenders, straighten the pinch weld, and then cover the pinch weld with the body armor. It turned out really well considering how bad it was previously & he actually saved money going this route!

I suppose it could happen again with only that plate.  Any plan for sliders?

Yeh I am thinking it will def still need some sliders. This armor will minimize damage but won't prevent it from happening again.  Need lockers and gears so I suppose I'll get me all at once at some point this year.

Sliders before the other stuff. Armor always comes first.
