Title: WTB: 15" wheels with 5x4.5 lug pattern, tires too
Post by: JeepSh on January 23, 2014, 06:52:12 PM
As the title states I am looking for some 15" wheels for my TJ. If you have some 33" tires to go on them, I'll take those too ;)

Thanks,
Patrick

Also should I prefer a 15x8 or a 15x10? How does it affect anything ?

What size tires are you putting on them?  For the smart butts...I'm interested in all tire measurements.  There are three of them for a tire.

33x12.5x15 is my plan for this phase.

The internet will tell you that you can get away with the 15x10s for that size tires. Some claim you can less riskily run lower air pressure in the tires if you put a 12.5 on an 8" wide rim than on a 10" wide rim.  I don't have experience with a 12.50 wide tire on either rim.

So it sounds like 15x8 would be a better bet. Thanks Clark

If I were not planning to go wider than 12.50" tires and I planned on airing down to low pressures, then I would choose the 15x8s.  However, I would be willing to keep a couple of extra pounds of air pressure in the tires while off-road if it saved me enough money (I.e., a cheap set of 15x10s might not be too bad compared to an expensive set of 15x8s).  15x8 wheels have less exposure to rock rash opportunities than 15x10 wheels.

I have ran those exact wheels with 32x12.50 and 35x12.50. No problems on either, I usually run 10psi off-road. Best thing is no spacers needed. They hold a very tight bead, just ask ALLSOUTH. They had a hard time removing the old tires for the new.

Also the lip is very wide on these and helps protect the tire. They can take a beating.
