Title: It's close enough to spring- let the topless and doorless fun begin!
Post by: PyratM on March 03, 2014, 07:39:48 AM
Yesterday was too nice to waste after I finished the pump install. Everyone share their doorless pics!

Took mine ff as well, getting ready for a bed liner install in the tub. Still working on some of the insulation removal.

Looking good!

Does anyone with the JKU just take their front doors off?  My kids ride in the back so I was curious if that looks weird or not.

I think it looks weird...but I would do weird if it was a kid safety issue

Good idea.  Safety first.  You can grab some tube doors or best-top half doors for the rear too so you don't have to run the full door but offer some safety.

I use to do it all the time...  Have a 7 and 4 year old...  Then I bought some aftermarket half doors...

I do it if I only plan on having them off for that day. May look goofy, but I dont care

I rolled with just the front two off yesterday! It is a bit different looking tho... Not as weird as when someone with 4 door only takes off just the driver door.. HaHa

It looks weird with only the front two off my XJ, too. I wanted to take them off for wheeling this weekend, but its going to be really cold.

I roll with just the front off sometimes. I don't really care what other people think. I have a set of tube doors for them too. Sometimes if I'm in a rush or its a little chilly then it makes more sense to only run rears. Weather permitting, everyone likes to be naked better!

Cool thanks for the tips.  I will check into the half and tube door options.  I can't wait to get the top off and at least 1 of the doors!

I don't think it looks bad at all, but now my fronts look brand new.

Man, I'd love to get some mopar half doors. Just can't justify that $.

One of the top 3 views in Moab right there...even 2 doors on and 2 doors off can't screw that up. Still looks goofy though

I don't think I have been on that trail...maybe I did and forgot, which one was it?

Are your Rugged Ridge powder coated to match your other stuff?  Or is that the finish they come in?

Nice pics!

Does anyone use the Rancho tube doors?  I think they look pretty good and I like how you can attach a Spiderweb shade to them too.

Those are some killer pics rodi. I don't know if I'd have the guts to get my Jeep that close to the edge.

No we didn't do that one.  It's an all day trip of moderate trail to a great view.

Sent off camber

Thanks! I really want to go back there.

I really am starting to like the half doors and found the Strikeforce Zebra ones to be the best made and the best price.

But they have had no uppers...

Do they have them yet?

True. I don't think they have them yet. But they may this year sometime. As easy as it is to take the doors off for good weather, could just pop these SFZ half doors on as well though.
