Anybody know what all came about between GATR and the subject Facebook group? They just posted a pretty nasty post about GATR and it's members.

//LMAO// People seem to have issues with us calling their illegal rides out in public. That is the REAL issue. Nothing more, nothing less. I will leave it with that. I have no idea who any of those guys are so I chaulk this up to the old "my buddy don't like them so I won't either, but never met one of them" deals. //WTF//

Actually from what I gather a bunch of them are complaining that GATR deletes photos and ride announcements that do not pertain to GATR rides. They also say that we are CJ hatin' TJ and JK lovers spending daddys money. (OK, I may have paraphrased that for humors sake from various posts). Seriously though they say that we make fun of others Jeeps and are just a rude bunch. Some are just saying though that it is GATR leadership that are the problem. All I know is that this FB drama is making my day at work go faster and I feel like a teenage girl everytime a new post comes up and I'm like "OH NO DEY DE'ENT" snapping my fingers.

Sounds like someone got their feelings hurt over the Beasley ride thread. I guess he told the guy coming up from Florida about a Beasley ride on Sunday in the GATR FB page and it got deleted or something. Then some others started with some nasty clearly unfounded comments.
Silliness. While I won't bash back I did have to make a defensive post.

This is one of the reason's I wanted to join this group. The other "clubs" out there were posting stuff that make all off roaders look bad. Illegal ride locations ect.
Thank you to the leadership of GATR to keeping things honorable and respectable.

We have been battling with people posting riding locations that are known to be illegal and off limits. But they post these things and pics all over the net and that is a HUGE no no in this community. Ever since the closing of Tellico we have banded together to really crack down on illegal wheeling so that we do not loose another great wheeling spot. Most of these other so called clubs are wheeling behind homedepots, powerlines and other illegal areas. Not too many actually wheel at a real offroad park. So yes, we police the internet on some places and will always post what we feel is right in regards to legal and illegal. We cannot afford not to. I would REALLY like to know where these guys get their info from though. There are alot of butthurt morons in cyberspace. Anybody who knows this club knows all of this is complete shzint. So maybe I will try to join this group and troll around to see //peek// But enough with the drama. Grown men acting like kids...

Bobby and I talked briefly about this a little last night. Not specifically that post but in general, the Facebook Jeep pages and groups are troublesome. You have no real way of policing your group, what they say and do and post...it's just a free for all.
I don't know any of the Georgia Jeepers personally nor do I "facebook" with them or any of that stuff, so are they nice, not nice, cool, not cool...I don't know. If they don't like us, that is there business but it is clearly obvious from that post about being rude, daddy's money, CJ haters, etc that they don't know US either, they couldn't possibly as those comments are just absurd.
We are a large club and have a number of Facebook "friends" or "likes" or whatever the hell you call on our Groups page but we also KNOW each other and see each other more than just cyberspace. We have a freaking year long schedule of rides and meet ups planned the entire year in advance...kick ass trips too, not some BS trip out to Dodd Road to flex in drainage ditch.
I am not sure why the drama but what I do know is we have a great club AND have a great club ride tomorrow!!! //cheers2// //cheers2//

GATR is a great club to be in! I would ask you to not change a thing and keep doing what you been doing! Uall do a great job keep it up. //SLAMIN//

^This. GATR is the best offroad club i've been in. Great people and great organization. I'm not sure where these Facebook people are getting their info.

More of an element we've dealt before. You won't see this group publicly criticizing another Jeep group, regardless of what they do. We do try to educate them and get them to only ride in the right places.
Our growth the last few years and the quality of people that show up for our rides and events is freakin stellar. Speaks for itself.
Folks in this club have total respect for each other, the land we use, and any newbs that show respect here to others. The expertise and willingness to help others it's unmatched.
The staff is always open to suggestions and works to provide the best ride schedule anywhere, but the one thing we don't compromise on is illegal wheeling. Not a grey area for us.
Hate I'm missing tomorrow, but the girls spring break trumped my Jeep ride. Have fun!

My CORE "dues" were returned when GATR paid for the shelter at Golden Mountain. Renting a camp site would have cost more than the dues. Thx.
