Since they closed Boggs creek for camping I was wondering if anyone has a line on some good camping spots near trout streams in N-GA. I know I have driven by several on some forest service rides but I forget to mark them on my GPS. My boys and I want to make a long weekend of woods and fishing.
I have done the Helen fs44 thing in the past but that area is getting crowded and the "open" spots are being closed and made off limits more and more.
thank in advance.

I found a great spot while driving up Winding Stair Gap Rd, turn on FS-77A (Jones Creek Rd.), it crosses a stream and there is a camp site right there on the bank..

I reserve the right to camp there even if you didn't know I was coming //no//

Dicks/Waters Creek is right by Boggs. Have you tried there?

Don't know about the fishing at all, but there is plenty of spacious camping on the forest service roads that are behind amicalola falls heading east that I documented in my exploration thread.

FS 58 is right next to Noontoola Creek and has several good spots. Rock Creek off of 60 just north of Suches has several camping spots and is full o trouts.

I went camping off Tallulah River Rd this past weekend. There's a few great spots out there. We camped right on the river, but it looked like all the good fishing was early on down the road. It was shallow in our camping area.

Yeah I have checked that out. It's a little more challenging than my wife wanted to do. //::)// we wound up not even camping and just hitting the cooper creek area around the hatchery. caught three and that was it. Still not a bad day. Better than work. //LMAO//
