Title: Guest saying hello
Post by: Punkandpea on August 01, 2014, 08:34:45 PM
Hello all, not a member, hope this is right place to touch base. Name is Paul, wife Theresa, Canton GA. Looking for a place to join others that love jeeps like we've grown to. Quick details, always car folks, but bought a 13 JK last year, haven't stopped working on it yet. New to trails but ready to give it every available weekend. I hope to have build done in a couple of months once I get the ABS working again: ( Not sure if the group is taking on new folks, but wanted to reach out and see. Saw the requirements and meet those, if specifics are needed on the jeep would be happy to put a build sheet out there, or profile it, but not sure if that's members only, if not will post the profile and see if it meets the test. Thanks Paul

Welcome to GATR.  Everyone is welcome here!

We've got guys out your way.  We have a lot of open rides every year, and CORE rides that are only open to CORE members.  Check out the calendar in the rides section, and join us on the next open ride.

Need pics of that Jeep and a list of mods too.

Welcome.

Thanks everyone - sounds great and I appreciate the information. I will get organized today after the sat errands and get a build sheet going on the jeep so that's out there. And some before after pics. New to forums so it'll take me getting used to replies individually. So I will do a quick rundown on the abs here and start a thread with hopefully the answer to the problem too. Thinking it's a sensor and bent tone ring (I think that's it) on the axle. Started when I had the 44's replaced with Currie Rock Jock 60's - go to hit the breaks and tap tap tap under foot then gone, breaks work but no ABS, kinda unsettling when the jk is probably coming in around 6000lbs plus now and hard enough to stop already. Gonna have to go big (bigger) on the breaks for sure but I gotta at least get the abs back in play till then. Super cool though y'all's suggestion on starting thread on it, appreciate the help already. Looking forward to the trails and will check out CORE today. //BEER//

I'm sure on of the many Rock Limo guys on here can help diagnose and troubleshoot your ABS issue.

Do you still have front 44 and do you want to sell it?

thanks for the welcome all - i will definitely reach out with some questions if the pending fix doesn't do it - i can tell this will be a world of help and hope to be of help to others with my past problems encountered.

Bobby - the 44's are gone - sorry about that - i've got a basement full of stuff though, some for a 4 door jk as well - even if folks just need another gear set or stock part, etc. but i will put that in the right place on the forum so not to clog up general discussion - should have that out soon as well

on to a profile and some build info now

yeah - not sure if i should be ashamed or not - was always in to the hot rod scene - once i got the jeep it changed all that - wife came close to killing me, but figured if i was going to build one i'd just go ahead and cover it all for the most part - then break it learning - probably backwards, but looking forward to climb - gonna post a few more pics - opinions and suggestions certainly appreciated
