Title: 2015 - Post Black Friday/ Holiday sales here!
Post by: clark123456 on November 26, 2015, 03:45:45 AM
Post up good deals you find for the 2015 Holidays (haha...Christmas).

It appears Bestbuy has started publishing their deals online already.  The 60" Samsung 4K is $799.  http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-60-class-60-diag--led-2160p-smart-4k-ultra-hd-tv-black/4563904.p?id=1219768907793&skuId=4563904 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-60-class-60-diag--led-2160p-smart-4k-ultra-hd-tv-black/4563904.p?id=1219768907793&skuId=4563904)

My daughter works today 5-midnight at Target.  They call it "grey Thursday".

Another member has a 65"  Samsung 4K that I saw recently.  It is incredible!  However, you have to have the content for it, which is limited at the moment from a convenience perspective.  I have been told there is a ton of content on bit torrent, but you need bandwidth and storage to obtain and hold the content, plus the trouble of pulling it down and assembling the video.

At that price, I doubt you could really go wrong with it, but if you were paying double for 4K versus HD, I would probably just get HD (no 3D) until 4K gets more content.

You are correct about the content but I will tell you,  I have a high end(came out of the magnolia store in bestbuy) 2013 plasma 1080p Samsung 65" in the living room and a cheaper 2014 4K 55" in the bedroom and even on non-4K content,  the 4K TV looks awesome.  It's speaker suck really bad - cheaper line model - but that's why you get a sound bar :)

Anyway,  non-4K content will look fantastic as well.  Not 4K fantastic but still good.
I've got my eye on those 78"/85" curved 4k Samsungs.   Curved doesn't work for me for anything smaller but at that size,  it really does feel more immersful.

I'm not a fan of the hertz modification stuff that makes it look like a cheap Spanish soap opera, so if that doesn't happen when it upscales it, awesome!

Do gaming systems run 4K now?  Could be another reason to get one, if you're into that thing.

We are looking at a 65" samsung 4k. The one posted above (and it's 65" brother) got pretty bad reviews... both had the "390" in the product number.

I still don't see a reason for 3d content... I haven't been impressed in the past, and I don't see any 3d movies coming out that would make it worth the additional cost. I will say that the curved screens almost give the illusion of it, though

The only people that will benefit from the 4k technology is the movie theaters. $k on a TV is a mind game, your eyes can only see so much and a TV is just too small for it to work. Basically, the 4k lets anything over 100" come in clearer. Or a different way to look at it, 4k lets you sit closer to the TV. Some of you probably don't remember the old boob tube TV's, but if you sat to close to them the picture would be very blurry because you could see all of the lines, so the further back you sat the clearer the picture. No days you can sit damn near directly in front of your TV and the picture is still clear.

But, like Clark said, for $799, you have nothing to lose lol. I bought my Samsung 55" UHD in 2013 and it was over $3k............

It's like digital cameras.  I bought my first one is 1989 for $1K, 1 MP.  Now 10MP cameras are <$100, and DSLRs for a few hundred.  Of course good lenses cost more than the cameras,

My wants are getting very specific lately so I really haven't seen anything that's made me jump yet.

^ This is exactly how I am. And the stuff I want rarely seems to go on sale.

Check northridge.  You can usually get 10% there anyway with forum code but I think I saw some higher discounts on antirocks.  Not sure it will make you jump tho.

Yeah, I am planning to send them a PM on the lines. I saw their antirock deal, decent.  I'm not even 100% I want it.

Edit: grammar

And all I want are some red labels :)
Reds are not hard to get. I'm might be placing an order through The People that you buy through soon.

What size are you wanting?

Ae has 40% off clothes. I buy there jeans as it puts them around $24. They last and are comfortable.

Academy has a boot sale so I bought Merrell's.

Cheap movies from target and best buy.

Had to go to 2 ace hardwear but I has a coupon for 50% off of $30. Bought 1 of the yeti ice things to try them out. Can't beat it for $15.

Picked up a milwaukee 1/4" impact for $99. Already own IR big air impact and rachet.

Offroad sale stuff kinda not there this year. Although master pull has 20% off there winch lines. Sho me speed has 10% psi harness (ls striped down plug and play harness, quality stuff). Hoping goatbuilt (ibex) was having a sale as I want their trailering arms.

I'm just joking around at the moment.  I won't be buying new tires until ~Feb unless I see a ridiculous deal on some.  As it stands today I'm leaning toward a set of 42 competition Treps (assuming they're out) for offroad tires

I'm thinking about a set of those as well late next year.

I need new hiking boots.  Went to Bennie's on the way to the Dome yesterday;  prices are 50% higher than the last pair I bought and no sale.

Check slickdeals sometime. They had a pair of Merrills for $50 yesterday, but sold out.
