Title: XJ on 1 tons
Post by: Cannonballkev on October 06, 2016, 06:24:49 PM
I saw this on CL a couple months ago, Big Dave sent me the link again today.  Price has dropped a little bit.  I may have to check it out for the hell of it and see what's really wrong with it.

Interesting. Seems like a decent deal if everything is as-advertised. I'd look into trading those tires/wheels for something a bit smaller and softer though

Why didn't I ever think of that.

"carpet has been removed to hoes out when dirty.

Are these the ones you're tracking @clark123456 ?

I've thought about getting the XJ just for the axles. Come on Kevin,  buy it so I don't pissed my wife off.

The wheels and tires are way too big for that XJ and have to go.
What kind of lockers?
How is the suspension setup?
How is the steering setup?
Stock shafts front/rear or aftermarket?
If the jeep truly has under a 100k on the clock then there is plenty of life left in it.

I like XJ's and have had 13 of them but I don't see this thing driving down the interstate at 70 mph unless the suspension and steering setup much better than the rest of the jeep looks.

When you check it out in person post back up and let us know what you find.

I think it looks sweet..... for a trailer queen. I bet the lockers are by Lincoln & the tires would shake the Jeep apart at 70 mph.
Probably a Dana 50 in front.  That's how I justify not going to look at it.

Simply put, at that price it is a deal. Buy it.
John wants to go 46's anyway.

Ha. Not me. Happy with the 41.5's PBR. Only tire in my future would be 42 Treps at some point.
