I really like this but can't wrap my head around the price.

That's pretty cool. But like you, I agree the price is pretty steep.

If I were to pay full price for one of those, I'd want it to hold more than 175 pounds on the safe side.

Hmmmm.... looks nice but what happens when you need in it and your on a steep incline.

I have a tuffy box that is similar.  Well not as integrated with the tailgate.  Its convent for some secure storage with the top off.  When its outside the garage, which is almost never.
