Title: Amazon Echo vs Google Home

We have an Echo set up in our store using voice commands to control a Control 4 system.  Audio, projector, lights

Seems like one more bit of technology in my house that ends up not working right and pissing me off.

But I have no experience with them so I'm irrelevant

Got an Echo when it was beta a year ago.  My kids have fun with it.  We use it as an alarm clock, kitchen timer, turning off and on lights, playing music, checking the weather...time...etc.

Liked it so much we got a Dot for the bedroom.  It does all the same stuff as the Echo other than the speaker for music is not good but you could hook it up to one if you wanted to play music through it.
