Title: The Masters - anyone going?
Post by: BigMike on March 28, 2017, 10:39:12 AM
I haven't been in about 8 years.  Going for the Wednesday practice round with a vendor.  Charter bus with cocktails leaving at 7am, lunch, dinner at Hooters in Augusta, charter bus home.  Should be a fun time.

I went Sunday 2 years ago and sat at the 18th hole. Fun, even if you're not a golf fan (cheap beer!) May go this year, but probably not.

Can't this year because of the baby, but if anyone is ever looking to rent a house for Master's week let me know. 15-20 min drive to gate...

Do you leave the keys in the buggy at the house for the week?

If you're inviting, I'm in :) j/k probably not this year. not spending enough with vendors lately.

I don't think anyone is ever going to look at the buggy and say "I need to steal that!"

And yes, the keys are usually in it :)

The only thing worse than watching golf on TV would be being trapped there for a week. Just me.

That why there are so many houses for rent. That, and its tax-free money

Locals all get out of town if they can.

I always love going to PGA events. Never been to the Masters, always wanted to though.

It's still on my Dad's bucket list. He is a golf fanatic. I'd love the chance to take him one day.

Been to other PGA events, but never the masters. I'd love to bring my dad someday. Post up if you have ticket connections!

Aren't you a vendor? :)

Too bad he isn't a client!

This will be my 4th time to The Masters and went to the BellSouth Classic twice.  I've only ever been to the practice rounds.  I'm a golfer (actually looking for a club to join) but I'm not a "star struck" person.  I people watch more than I watch the golf when I go to a PGA event.  Walking around Augusta National is just incredible.  It should be a fun day.

I've invited clients that haven't been able to go, that really sucks!

I am however taking some to East Lake, followed by happy hour and several course meal by a 5 star chef and closed with a private comedy set with Ron White and a tasting of his new tequila! :)

What's your recruiting budget at work?

It's built in as a part of most jobs we hire for in IT.  We don't pay more than 20% these days.  I mainly work with two vendors but we have several.  What type of recruiting does your company do?
