I saw on Georgia Jeep Alliance on the Facebook that someone had their JK stolen last night. So I started looking around at options and thought I would throw up a new thread on the subject.
I’ve had an alarm on the Jeep for quite sometime. It does a decent job when I set it but it mostly scares the crap out of cats. I keep a vehicle parked behind my Jeep at night which I believe adds an extra layer to theft avoidance. My carport being up a hill probably also helps.
I found this device which has female pins and wires that connect presumably to the starter or a fuse box and you carry a male pin to make the connections. https://www.ravelco.com/
There do not appear to be any current dealerships in Georgia.
I have also thought about an OBD II lock as most thieves seem to be connecting via a computer to hijack vehicles.
I used to think a steering wheel lock would do the trick but apparently they can be sawn through easily.
Has anyone found a good OBD lock?
I have a Bolt Hood lock but have not installed it yet. It will probably be getting installed soon. The only thing I don’t like about the Bolt is that it also makes engine access more difficult while wheeling. Trade offs I guess.
Anyone find any other mods to thwart thieves?

I keep my jeep dirty, dented, and usually, it has a dead battery...there are much better options for thieves out there.
EDIT: I do recall some friends, neighborhood kids, or reading a story (can't remember which) where high-end bicycle owners would paint their bikes to look ugly to discourage theft.

i just pull the starter fuse ,, keep it in a hidden place in the jeep.. :) learned that from Ben and AJ. easy peasy.. . and cheap

Just drive a XJ, problem solved.

This works for me...not OBD but does the job

Vice grips.
I had to finish cutting my gass after snapping off the wheel.

Doesn't look too difficult to overcome in that picture.
I forgot to mention, a manual trans will stop some folk.

Similar to camera guys storing their expensive lenses in a diaper bag in public places.

Nice one! I can think of one person who could learn from that @BlueJew

Just do it like @Big Dave and leave the tires flat

everyday? I know Ben and AJ don’t use their jeeps. So those fuse pins won’t get worn out. I’m not even sure Bens runs anymore.

I don't worry about, but this is an option.
