I know there are a few of us who have already paid up and are planning on going. Haven't heard anything about it in a while though.

It's my backup plan if I get desperate to wheel and I can't get a ride together for Windrock or Golden Mountain.

Forgot about this one. When my wife comes back from Dallas I will ask. Maybe stay with Chris for $10.

Still $25. I plan on camping, but I might be in for a hotel room for just one night.

It took me 3 hours, maybe a little more, to get there.  Up I-75 to Cartersville, and then to Rome, and West into God's country.  Then you have to go around the mountain ridge to get to it.  There are a lot of "amusement rides" in close proximity to each other, and you will get to test your Jeep and your pucker.  Definitly have to go sometime.  They are cutting new trails all the time.  Very undeveloped still.  I don't want to go back thee until it cools off some.  It was really wicked hot when I was there.

Really.  >:(  So is there a list to meet the minimum fee?  Who IS going?

The cost is $25 per rig.  If you want in, please let me know as you will need to pay me in advance.  There will be no one taking payments at the gate and we have already met the minimum.  I have paid Bob for all who have already paid me.

I have already paid for two rigs.  I am not sure who is going with me though.  Jack from Mild 2 Wild may go and can help kinda guide us through the trails.  He has been a bunch and even helped with the trails before it opened.

When is everyone planning on getting there?

Some did, and the park is secured.  It's a semi-private ride I guess, as the park would not be open otherwise.

Give us your cell, send us an email on here with your info and we'll get you our numbers.  When you get off on 20W take it to the Fulton Industrial Boulevard exit and we'll meet up at a gas station off of there.  Call us when you see the exit sign for FIB.

Be safe.  Go 2 more exits West to Thornton Rd.  There you will find restaurants, gas stations, even a Wal-Mart if you turn left, and NO crack ho's on the corner.  Yes, even at 9AM, but Oh wait, Jimmy will feel like he's in MACON!  :D

WOW, so yesterday afternoon I got my tires balanced since a couple of weights had fallen off and its all interstate to Mountainside. I just went outside to start loading up my Jeep, AND I HAVE A FREAKING FLAT TIRE!!!!!!!  >:( >:( >:( WHAT THE HELL??? Am I never going to get to go on a trail ride ever again??? I need to get a $%#^ing matching spare. I'm going back to bed.....dammit.

I am madder than hell right now, lol, I can't go back to sleep, I can't drive to Mountainside, and I just realized my floor jack is at my buddy's house on the other side of town.  >:( >:( >:( If I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any.

No, I am going to bring it back to the tire place in a little bit. I didn't see a nail in it or anything, but I've also never heard of a tire falling off the bead from getting balanced.

I have seen a few tire leak when they hammer the weights on. What I would do is watch the when they do it, mainly when they stick in in the tub of water that way you can let them no it was there fault or they will tell you it had a hole in it. What tire shop was it?
Title: Re: Mountainside Discussion, July 25-27
Post by: Jimmy on July 26, 2008, 11:22:35 AM
I just went to the Tires Plus on Forsyth. I just got back, they didn't find any thing in the tires and didn't disagree that it could have happened from adding the weights, so they didn't charge me  ;D I should have asked for my $26.25 back for the trip, lol.

Oh and Will, in my free time today I cleaned and organized my trail tool box. I know you'll appreciate not having to hear "crap, I need to organize this junk, I can't find anything, can I borrow a 13mm wrench? No, I need a 12-pointed one. Yeah, like that, thanks" anymore.

This was a blast.  One of my fav rides so far.  Not much carnage either.  I know a WJ broke a front CV and a XJ cut down a few Swampers.  I think the TJ's that did the rock garden bent some stuff.  I feel less of a man after this ride.  I tried Full Throttle early in the day and didn't make it.  Went back after lunch and the wife was driving.  She made it up after only a few tries.  I guess she figures she can break it and I will have to fix it.  Got video of both me and her and you can hear who was actually "full throttle".  Pics will come tommorow.

We need to do another ride there.  Very fun with lots to do for everyone.

There were two WJ's.  One was my brother-in-laws and the other was a guy from NAXJA.  Both did pretty good but both need lockers.
