Title: Questionable Vendor
Post by: lt99ls1 on July 17, 2008, 09:23:56 AM
I order three switches from http://www.4x4mods.com/Product/Jeep/Rockerswitches/rockerswitch40.html
on June 26th.  Sent a couple emails asking for a tracking number with no response. Now I am in the process of getting my money back through paypal, what I realy want is the switches.

Anybody know of another source for these? I want them to go in the factory spots on my Tj with out cutting everything to pieces.

No it was for some brake light bulbs for the bike the ones that spin and flash. I have never heard of the company you mentioned but them are some cool switches.

Be very very careful.  These switches have a HORRIBLE reputation.  I've got some.  The normal SPST ones are ok but the DTDT ones are trouble.  I was a Biomedical Electronics Tech in a previous life and have never seen a switch that had wiring requirements like them.  Do a search on Jeepforum or Jeepsunlimited.  Plenty of people have had trouble with these switches.  You will probably get them, but probably won't be happy with them.

They do have really cool labels and all, but the switches are not very high quality at all.

These switches are supposed to be same quality as ARB switches:

They are what I will be ordering next time.

I'm sure 12voltguy would make you a flush mount one Doug, he makes some pretty trick stuff.

Doug,

The purpose of ordering the switches originally mentioned was to fab up an in dash winch control setup.  After spending the money, I actually ended up ordering the 12voltguy panel kit.  I should have done this from the start.  I am using one of the 3 switches I ordered for my OBA, but any switch would have worked for that.

Here is the 12voltguy part I used:

http://12voltguy.com/web/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=20&category_id=6&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=43

I got the one that fits the flat spot on 05 TJ 2x2.5" i think with the light in the end of toggle.

Paypal refunded my money last night.  ;D I really think the place sent me an email after I claimed them on paypal trying to get me to drop the claim so they could keep the money and not ship anything. Acording to thier shipping chart the parts would have been here on Thursday the 24th.

OK Larry,

Now check that link I gave to OTRATTW or whatever it is or give 12voltguy a call.  I can vouch for either one of those.  If you insist on the switches you couldn't get,

I have a SPST winch power, and a DPDT Winch In/Out, both white lights sitting on my bench.  The in/out may or may not work, but that would have been the case had you gotten them direct from the vendor :fu(

Good to hear Larry.  You also got some quality switches instead of those others.
