OK so I understand why front bumpers cost as much as they do but come on rear bumpers costing 700-1500 is crazy stuff..
maybe some of you know why and could enlighten me

I would buy a locker first ;D
-
no corner protection or tow points (except the reciever).
Yeah the price has got me too with bumpers and other JK parts. A to Z made a thread today on Jeep Forum in the JK section about suggestions. Most of us said bumpers that dont cost an arm and a leg. The guy from A to Z posted back saying they had bumpers that were cheap and very competitive price. The link he gave was to their rear bumper that was $800 for now tow points, no hitch and no spare tire carrier. I told him that it was rediculous to call that a great price bumper.
Pretty much Rugged Ridge and Rampage are the only ones thinking the right thing about good bumpers at cheap prices.

right but it does come with the tire carrier not sure right now its in my cart not really sure... thinking about getting it and having some d-rings points welded on...
-
1/4" steel seems a bit over kill, weight (i would think might sag the back end some)
not sure how the back of the JK's are but it looks like it sticks out pretty far
although it has a tow hitch it looks like it's sitting a bit low.
beyond that it looks like it would take a major beating and still look like new.

LOD is an awesome company and makes great products for much cheaper than most. I have front and rears and LOVE them. They have taken some good poundings!
-
looked at LOD and they were about 400 more then this one that i am looking at

Typically a rear bumper will cost more than the front, because of the tire carrier. I looked at the Smittybuilt rear bumper and tire carrier at the Truck Fest and was impressed with the quality and price. I could have got it for $750.

I decided to hold out for this one though. I have their front bumper and love it.
