Title: Are you social?
Post by: BigJerm on December 12, 2008, 02:41:00 PM
Are you? Me, not so much. I mean I like hanging out with a small group of folks, maybe watching a game, sitting around a camp fire, sitting at a bar but man I HATE parties! O I cannot stand to go to them anymore or go out with large number groups to bars especially when I don't know most of the people. I guess I find most people my age annoying because they are immature or the carefree attitude because mom and dad still take care of them at age 25 really chaps my ass. Megan doesn't like it because she is a go out kind of person so once a month or so she drags me out somewhere (like tonight). The rest of the time she just goes with friends.

Just thought I would share this, I am bored, its moving day at the office and phones, faxes and printers are already offline.

Let her go out by herself! Trust me, if this is a problem, her going out without you, than it won't work in the long run! Mine use to bartend, believe me, I know how it feels at first. But if you trust them(which you should only trust you to begin with and your parents next) there should'nt be a problem with this. Work can't be the only time you have away from eachother. You will end up smothering eachother. Go out with your old buddies and meet up with her somewhere or DD for her and the girls. Trust me, if your going out and not having a goodtime, she will know! As for maturity, hell I was out last summerand watched so 50 year olds duke it out. Over what? Because one told the other how to raise their kids. Bottomline, if you don't want to go than don't. I am not a bar hopper anymore either. But I do it with close friends, maybe once a month. Other than that, its at a buddies house for dinner and drinks and in bed by 4am!!!

Depends. Sometimes I love to go the bar and fight the crowds to shout an order over blaring music for a couple of $3 beers. Sometimes I just like to hang out and my friends' apartment and tell lies over a $3 six pack. Just depends on the mood I am in.

haha Glenn trust me, no issue with her going out on her own and I prefer it so I don't have to go! I just hate the whole social scene thing I guess. Like when I go to parties and friends are there we usually end up on a deck or something just hanging out drinking. Like tonight... Christmas party.... blah but tomorrow some old friends found me on Face Book and we are going to a bar to hangout for a bit and I look forward to it.

I like to meet new people but not a whole room full at once, and usually in a casual environment. Clubs are to chaotic for me sometimes. It kinda works for me that there arent any in the area. We usually meet a few new people every month at our 3rd saturday potluck. Good enough for me. Thats usually the only night of the month that I actually have more than one or two good drinks.  {toast}

Work can't be the only time you have away from eachother. You will end up smothering eachother.

My wife and I must be an absolute aberration....we worked together for 7 years at our last business...not shoulder to shoulder all day but we easily saw each other a dozen times during the work day. We both miss that aspect now....and lunch breaks were a lot more fun.  I dont think that any of our couple friends spent that much time together. Worked for us.

I would much rather hang out with a small group than a big party..there are just way too many things going on when you get too many people together..

I hate the party scene. Never into it. But all women like to go out and have a good time. So I go when necessary. I dont mind talking to people...mature people that is.

Well, I know what works for some relationships doesn't work for others. Everyone is sombodies X and someone was with her before you more than likely and someone is tired of her sh** no matter how hot she is! We all have our personal wants and needs in the opposite sex and hopefully, all have you have been through the ringer or dated a psycho 1X in your lives. I think will all good dudes, there is a truly strong female behind him. Like I said, I got my own personal checklist in what I want and you have to communicate to make sh*t work! So when are WE guys all going out? Don't be asking for permission!!!LOL!!!

I used to not be social at all but ever since joining my fraternity, I have become more and more social. I still don't like going to clubs or anything but I'll hangout with a large group (20 or so) people all day long.

well went to the Christmas party last night and made an attempt to be social for her. Wasnt to bad seeing that most every guy there was into mountain bikes or hiking. I knew about 4 people at the party already but didn't see them much. The only thing I didnt like was it was probably 25 people in a small 2 bedroom apartment and the only beer was a keg of Sweetwater 420 which I think is a terrible beer.

You just slipped down a notch in my book Jeremy :P

I do agree that its not the best beer to get in a keg for a party if you plan on getting drunk, its pretty heavy and filling.

Easy solution - Next time Meg is itching to go get crazy and you're not feeling up to it, drop me a line - I'll take care of her.  :)

Glen et al, we need to be nice to Dewild because he is a social butterfly and we might hurt her, I mean his feelings...................

I'm not big on the bar scenes unless I'm there with people I already know and like. But when it comes to jeep rides or events that's a different story. I can handle a large crowd when it comes to a Jeepin crowd ;D

I can handle the large Jeep crowds sense we have a common link! I might can handle most of the new crowd of folks she hangsout with. They all are hiking, camping, mountain bikes folks so that works but some are anti OHV's so I wont get along great with all of them.

I was pretty social last night; went to the bar to celebrate the end of finals. Apparently I sent Will a text message that said "I love beer".

Hahah!! MikeD is a pussy..cat! My bad Matt! I went out 1 night in Conyers with the wife and a few buddies. It was a bar called Caddy's at that time. Long story short, a buddy we ran into was there with another guy. This"other" guy was a prosecutor in Covington, Ga. Guess who this guy runs into? 2 dudes he locked up for domestic violence! Well, I was a Fed at the time along with my other buddies. Our guns were outside along with....our stinking badges! Sh*t broke loose! I ended up head butting a guy, my signature move, and splitting his forehead. We Tracy gets blood on her hands as well, I got the dudes blood in my hair(I had hair back than) and it was going south quick! We fought our way out of there! It was stupid but damn it was fun!!! So social? Yeah, kind of like writing posts, depends on your mood at the time! OK, Dewild, 1 up me you douchebag!!LOL!!! {toast}

I enjoy meeting new people especially when there is a common interest we all share.  I don't really like big work related social gatherings were everybody is sucking up to the owner, president and VP's hoping to get a bigger bonus (or a bonus period this year) when the same people just bitch to each other about the management the rest of the year!  I go to make my appearance and say hello to all the people I manage then the wife and I go out and enjoy ourselves while we have no kids. ;)

My wife is a stay at home mom so I only have one holiday party a year to worry about. THANKFULLY!!!
