As the title says name the part... I'm going to link a picture of a mangled part I just replaced on my Jeep. The first person to guess the correct part get's a beer of their choice if we ever meet, if you don't drink well I'll buy you a happy meal or something... Bonus points for whoever can tell me how this part was broken, because I would really like to know.

It looks like the trackbar mount and the power steering pump bracket
-
Neither, keep trying...
-
hmmm i think it came from the lower motor mount to the flux compastor and it broke when you had a spike of 4.9gig o watts of power..
-
It's the doo-hickey. You can see the bolts for the whatca-ma-call-it and the holes for the thing-a-ma-jig.
-
Some accessory mount on the engine.
-
looks like the lower-right part is a part of a mm...and the upper-right and lower-left look like part of an engine block and the middle piece looks like part of a bracket of some kind.
-
Jimmy is closest so far.
Hint: It's attached to the lower right side of a 4.0 and I had to remove the battery and battery box to change the mount out.
-
alternator bracket?
-
^ x2
-
That would be my guess
-
you owe me a beer sucka
-
That would be it... now anyone have a clue as to how it could have broken?
-
Ouch.
-
Oh and Steven, I think I should be able to count the beer I gave you at River Rock, since it was one of my last...
just messing with you man, I'll pay up. You drink natty right?
-
Ouch.
You should have seen the look on the face of the guy at the parts store when I set that down on the counter. I ended up having to go to the junk yard and pull one in the rain, while laying in the mud.
-
i give up. howd you break it?
-
Nah I'm cool man, I'm not drinking that day
The amc 2.5's were bad about having a broken alternator pulley. me and a friend had them break on us
stress/vibration/faulty design caused it. needs more triangulation

I wish I knew. I bought the Jeep 2 days before Thanksgiving with 238,000 miles on it. it started acting like the alternator was bad and when I went to change it out that is what I found.

it looks like richard put one of his jeep repair kits under the hood!
-
Thats what I was thinking

I don't know about that, but I always end up with a surprise or two every time I go to work on it.
-
Thats a jeep thing for sure ;)

I expected that, but it's better than having to drop a new engine in a 97 F-150 with only 85,000 mi on the clock.
