These are m882 axles from mid/early 70's Dodges. Full float, 4.11 gears, 8 lug 30 spline shafts. I havent pulled any covers but they could possibly be detroit lockers, limited slip or open diffs
I'll get an exact width on them tomorrow
$250 each. I can load one of them now and would have to pull the rest
-
I need ford parts!!!!!
-
Out of dodges? Those are great for bolting into a xj. Spring perches should be the perfect width and angle, just weld on shock mounts and shorten the DS a bit. Thats whats in my wifes xj on 35's and what was in my old yellowxj.
-
Yes they do bolt right in! I just stuck one underneath my XJ
Is this price reasonable? I think it is considering it's a bolt-on mod for an XJ ;D
-
Whats the width? If I can scratch some spare cash up I might pick one up off of you.
-
around 66"
-
Width is 65.5"
There are 3 left. possibly 2, a sale is pending
Bolt in to an XJ
The axles are open differential 4.10 gears, the brakeline bolts directly on. I will give you weld-on shock tabs to mount the shocks. The perches are in the exact spot and the pinion angle looks good.
The trucks these came out of are low mileage also so these axles are in good shape.
Let me know if you want one
-
If you have one left in two weeks or so, I am definitely interested. Just got to wait for people to get their parts from my XJ.

You should send Steven a deposite to hold you one.
-
damn tempting
-
give me a $100 down payment and you can pickup the axle and pay me the rest later. goes for anyone here
I have a d70 w/4.10's $250 also but unless you plan on rolling on 44's you dont want it. it's huge
theres plenty of people that have told me when their tax refund comes back they are buying a rear 60
if anybody buys one and wants shock tabs, remind me to give them to you
the 60's have 1310 yokes

Go Jimmy. {letseat} {toast} {letseat} {toast} ;D

Stephen, PM me your phone number. I am supposed to be dropping my axles off in Columbia tomorrow. If it works out, I want to come pick a 60 up on the way home. Any of them happen to have both axles spin the same way when you turn the pinion yoke?
-
Ok I'll send you my number. it has to be late in the afternoon though. 3pm ish at the earliest
Nope they are open diffs

You got a welder, spools are cheap option also.
-
^ I think I am going to go option A for now. Then if I ever regear, go to a spool.
-
A welded diff is stronger than a locker or spool. check out how many times you have seen/heard of lockers breaking and how many welded stock carriers break
detroit=junk on the rocks. they were built for street cars where the tires do not leave the ground and the car is pointed in a straight line at the dragstrip
Jimmy is going to have himself a Dana 60 rear tomorrow {cool} what front are you going with? may as well get a 60
When you call me tomorrow remind me if you want the shock tabs or not
-
I might as well go ahead and get the shock tabs too. I was planning on an 8-lug HP44 unless I find a 60 for a steal.

Jimmy shoot me some pictures of Steven's front, he won't take any and show it off, I'm sure he did a good job.
-
They'll be cell phone shots but I'll try, haha.

Cell pictures are better than no pictures.
-
The front isnt finished it's just mocked up under it because hasnt sent me my shackle hangers. I'll be taking pictures because the high steer arms are bling and the steering heims are 3/4" chromoly ;D the tierod isnt on it but it will run over the springs behind the axle. not to mention the 3/8" steel diff cover
I had to build it strong because I cant drive :D
-
truer words have not been spoken. ;D
-
You dont need to rub it in ;D
Jimmy I didnt even think to mention it but I want to swap my front 60 out for a passengers side drop. Give me what I have in it and it's yours, ask Larry what I have in it and you'll probably want it ;)
I got the drivers side axle at first because it was going to be easier so I could get it rolling the fastest without swapping transfer cases but I have all the time in the world now to do it right
-
2 left. get 'em while they last
I need a dana 300 right now and would trade even for one if it has a twinstick shifter
-
Thanks again Steven. BTW, what year and model Dodge did these come out of so I can start dreaming about parts, lol.
-
It came out of a 77 M882 4wd Dodge military truck. Were they Power Wagons or what? I don't know
-
Oh and thank you. I was helping a guy build a deck and wanted to break free to watch the race anyway ;D
