Title: not bad...
Post by: Krawler00 on February 02, 2009, 04:28:08 PM
I was going for the Moto Metal 0957 wheel look. I think it turned out pretty good. Better than the machine finsh anyway. What about the center cap? Leave it or paint it. I kinda like the polished. {ehm}

You don't need to clear over rattle cans. You could if you wanted to put a little more protection on them.

No clear going on. No need since it will be beat up anyway. I can touch it up easier without the clear. ;) Doug, I can paint those beadlocks whenever man. I got mad skills in the paint dept. ;D

yup. Only using the trxus to wheel to and from. Maybe last a few years that way. I almost want to find another set of canyons for the street and paint them since I like the look of them black so much. ;)

will the paint stay on through pressure washing?...I've never spray painted wheels so will it stay on pretty good as long as they aren't chrome wheels?

I did not take the steps to do it the best way but if you scotchbrite the wheels up then paint it will stick. I painted 2 sets with the same paint and the other set I have has held up just fine.

Not trying to bash your decision, but if you have 2 sets of wheels, why not go with a more aggressive tire? I don't know if price was a consideration but if I were to get 2 sets of tires, I probably would gone with some TSLs or something.

Ben, the Trxus is a very aggressive tire. I don't know about you, but I like to stick with things that work for me. ;) I have been places in my little Jeep on 33's that some big boys could not.  ;)

You/your Jeep is fun to watch. You definitely pick some good lines, I mean for 33s you make it over some pretty ridiculous stuff.  Well except for little 2" pointy rocks ;D

 {hihi} {no} I will take my Trxus over the KMs. I like being different from the other 20 rigs running them. :D Yup, $that price includes the offroad warranty. If I cut one, I get a new one, no Q;s asked. Wish I would have done that to begin with b4 these tires. :'(

I know it is an pretty aggressive tire, I'm just saying I would of gotten something more aggressive if I could switch out tires.

Like what?

A bias tire like a Super Swamper LTB, TSL, Bogger, IROK, BFG Krawler, Maxxis Creepy Crawler, or Trepador. Just depending on how much money I would want to spend.

I wouldn't mind beside that would require about 2 more inches of lift, some trimmed fenders, long arms, at least 3/4 axles, and a whole lot of money and tools that I don't have.

Not necessarily. As long as I build it right with lots of planning. But I don't want to run 37"s anytime in the near future, so I'm not worrying about it.
