What are the chances that a pull a part will have a dana 44 front axle out of a waggy? I just did a search on there website and saw they have a few in Atlanta and a few in Augusta. How much do they usually cost and what are the chances that they actually have the 44 still?

The one in Augusta has the front under it still if I remember. The one in Macon has waggy w/ a front 44 also; I know it has one hub all taken apart, but is otherwise complete. I paid $115 for a rear 44 at Augusta with a warranty from drum to drum.

I think i am going to go ahead and buy one this in the next month or so. I will actually have somewere to built it for a change in the new house.

Alex, what do you plan on doing about wheels?

I calculated i can build one for around 900 with 100 for rims and 100 for steering. I am just going to try and find some factory ford 5x5.5 rims about like what i have now or some steel rims. I have a broken Dana 30 i can run until i do the swap but i have i will be buying one very soon, build it enough to get it under the jeep (truss, control arm mounts, coil mounts steering) than later i will get the gears installed in Sep.

I have some 15x10s if you need wheels . 2 are soft 8s and 2 are ar 767 I will trade for something or cash if they will work for you.

i know i am no jeep expert but why in the hell would you want a 44? most of the people i wheel with locally bust those things and upgrade to something stronger but then again they are in full size trucks.

Didn't you just put a 44 under your Yota?

The main reason for the 44 is it is cheap to build, i dont plan on going bigger than 35's and time soon so a 60 would be pointless. I just dont want to have to worry about my ring and pinion all the time.

I think a 44 is a damn good axle. 35's is perfect on them. But that is just my opinion.
