Lee,
Me, Daniel & Josh are going to be riding Beasley Knob tomorrow. What time are you guys going to be up there?
We should be there around 10:00 on channel 7.
-
If anyone else wants to meet up, just let us know.
-
JOSH :bs) ? I must have misread this.
-
JOSH :bs) ? I must have misread this.
Its the real deal. You guys better show up and get a picture with him. No one would believe it other wise. Be the maiden voyage for him.
-
Might could have made it with more than 1 days notice. I'll be hangin' with the Grandson Sat., Yall have fun.
-
I know, last minute the stars aligned just perfectly.
-
I am going to be in Hiawassee for the weekend. I will be jeepless unfortunately. If anyone needs a co-pilot let me know and I will break away for a few hours to help out... hahah..
I will be home until about 400pm and after that I will be on the road without access to the internet......
seriously,, call my cell at 912-617-7986 if interested..
Tks,
Mike (Rockinwrangler)
-
I know, the Josh thing really surprised me. I HAVE to go if he's really gonna be there, but if he bails you guys will be the first to know.
-
Hey Matt, I'll be there. 3 Passengers this time, and first time riding this trail.
I'm going to print off two more emergency contact forms and have them fill 'em out and throw 'em in the dash in case something happens, that way you know.
-
Oh yea Matt, are you guys meeting at the trail head at ten, or at the waffle house at ten?
-
We will probably grab a biscuit from the ever so delightful curts in the morning on the way up. So we will be at the trail head at 10:00 waiting.
If you are late and we are on the trail call my cell.
770-363-1723
We will be riding until 2:30ish. So we might get there a little earlier than that.
-
Aight man, will do.
-
Ahh, I forgot to ask one last question. Which entry are you guys going to?
1.(FS Road 851, Windy Mill Road)-There are two parking areas from which to enter the OHV trail system. Beginning on US 76/Highway 515 in front of the Blairsville Post Office, go east for 0.7 mile. Turn right onto Windy Hill Road, a paved road. At 0.7 mile when Windy Hill curves sharply to the left, go straight onto a gravel road. After 0.1 mile, turn left onto a narrow gravel road, Forest Service Road #851. Continue 0.8 mile to the OHV trail system parking lot.
or
2.(FS Road 93, HWY 76)-Beginning on US 76/Highway 515 in front of the Blairsville Post Office, go east for 3.4 miles. Turn right just before two large propane tanks onto Rosemary Lane, which is also Forest Service Road #93. At the first fork, go left. At the second fork go right. Follow the road to the parking lot at the end, a total of 1.6 miles.

Looks like y'all had a nice time and some fun. How was the Waffle House?
and NO FLOPS! ;D
-
Yeah it was fun and I am going to try my best to make some of the official rides, the only thing is I need to get a couple of things done first like a CB, SPARE, and a few recovery points on the rear. Other than that i am definitely going riding again soon.

Looks like a great time. Sorry I missed your ride. Next time maybe I will have my ride...
-
Tedder, where ya hide those pics?
-
Tedder's pic's were there earlier!
-
Uhh... Not really for sure. Hold on I'll see what I can do.
Edit: there we go, I forgot they got moved to a folder.
-
I didn't know you guys were riding at Beasley on Sat. I didn't get to your site for the last few days and didn't notice the ride post. I hope y'all had a good ride. We had one minor winching. We headed to 93B and one of the guys got so far and said that was it. Eventually he turned around and we all made it back. We left around 3:00. See ya again sometime. I'll try to get out with y'all some time.
Tedder28 so now you've seen me out on the trails. ;D
-
It was nice seeing you again Vince. We had a good time. It was a very relaxing ride. I think 93B is definitely the hardest trail out there.
Very last minute ride for us.

Which Jeep was it that had to get the minor winching?
And, that was you? I didn't have the first clue. Your Jeep looks nothing ilke it is in your avatar, I'd say it's a time to update it. :D
I seen y'all comming off the trail just about the time I was done airing up and connecting the swaybar back. It was nice to meet ya though.
-
One of the guys got up against a tree so I winched him sideways off it. I enjoyed the ride.
Ok a new pic is there.
Glad everyone had a good ride.
-
I just got done rinsing my Jeep off. I knew we had some thunder storms rolling in, so I didn't bother washing it. Just wanted to knock off the majority of the mud that got slung up.
Sure enough, I found my front driver wheel had some rock rash. I was so proud. {cool} lol
-
how is the riding up there. Ive never been on a 1-10 scale how does it rank 1 being a stocker could go and 10 being hardcore buggy.
-
2
-
Yea I'd agree that it's a 2. Unless it's wet, then I'd say it's about impossible.
It's not like RR. It's just really long trails, alot of up hill climbs, and sometimes there's loose rocks on the climbs so it makes it pretty fun.
-

i wouldn't say it is impossible when wet, i just wouldn't recommend going while it is raining/wet. especially if you have $h!tty A/T's like me
-
I would say that it would be extremely dangerous if wet, which would probably lead to you looking out your windshield up side down.
93B is probably the hardest trail there.
-
i don't know what trails i rode, but i slid down a really steep hill. my brakes and e brake wouldn't stop me from sliding
-
Well, I actually had a pretty good time. I haven't been since February (if you count Rice's Creek-then March) but I have fun and the Ranger held up. I furthered my "prerunner" flares even more.

They're all in the photobucket brotha... I didn't get any pics myself. But Tedder and Matt got some. You just gotta sift through, it's easy though, it's the only non-Jeep vehicle there. And there's only 4 total.
-
what photo bucket
-
The GATR Photobucket.
It's the next to last one on the list.

So why is Daniel sideways on the trail? {ehm} I know you have'nt wheeled in awhile but man, what gives!? :D
-
Um...because Beasley is a bunch of basically one way trails and we were going to climb the one we came down because it was the most challenging one that we could all climb. And I have a long wheel base so I can just turn around on a dime. That's why.
-
:bs) I call driver error! :D
-
:bs) I call driver error! :D
Well, you weren't there so tell yourself whatever you want.
-
Remember, I've seen the way you drive. ;D
-
Ok, well ask Matt or Tedder or Josh even, and they'll tell you that I was in the process of turning around after climbing up a hill that we'd just went down.
-
Defensive much!? Just pullin your little leprechan leg! :-*
-
He's right. Teeter tottered a bit. rub a flare or two. Then finished turning around.
"hey you with the shirt!"
Oh yea, sorry if she pissed y'all off. she tends to get a bit excited.
-
Teeter totterd a bit. I knew it. ;D
-
Hey Daniel, what was the name of the thing you accidently hit? Looked like control arms to me but you used a different word.
-
Defensive much!? Just pullin your little leprechan leg! :-*
Not at all.
Teeter totterd a bit. I knew it. ;D
Just puttin' on a show. No one else would do it.
Hey Daniel, what was the name of the thing you accidently hit? Looked like control arms to me but you used a different word.
Torsion bar. Retarded things. Should never have been put on a 4WD vehicle.
-
Daniel, you gonna make the beasley ride coming up?
-
What's it actually do?
-
retarded things.
-
Daniel, you gonna make the beasley ride coming up?
As far as I know.
What's it actually do?
As far as what IT actually does, I couldn't give the whole detailed description, cause I'm not sure, but they replaced coil springs. On a car, I'm sure they're nice, but on a 4WD, they hang down too far and clip everything and get in the way.
retarded things.
True dat!
-
Torsions bars are a spring, the bar twist when the suspension travels, placing pressure on the control arms. Theyre 8==D
Daniel is the best ranger driver ive seen {salute}
-
Daniel is the best ranger driver ive seen {salute}
And how many have you seen? Not including Adam, 'cause he can't do anything.
-
Richard will chime in!
-
Richard will chime in!
Probably not. He doesn't like us.
-
Daniel is the best torsion bar ranger driver. :D
Probably not. He doesn't like us.
Why do you say that..
-
My truck does the work not me. {toast}
-
Umm...I gotta question.
Where are the obstacle in the pics? LOL
So Beasley really is a 2 on a 1-10 scale. haha
Looks like a good scenic ride though. never been. Might see what I have going for the August ride.
-
Beasley is a good first time off road ride. It gives you a good opportunity to see how your vehicle does going up and down some steep hills, how the vehicle's flex is, how our clearance is, and won't intimidate you so you decide that offroading isn't for you. It is inexpensive and since it is easier there are few traffic jams.
It is good to go on a ride sometimes that you know you won't get too much damage if any.
You should go just to try it.
-
You should come on out. Its like you said a good scenic ride. Lot of steep inclines, some loose rock, a couple decent climbs. Not the typical offroad park, not really any obstacles, just a few sections that are fun to climb.
Well said Vince.
-
Poser shots FTW! lol
looks like Beasley is good for that at least. I've heard good things about one or 2 trails up there. It's not too far from me in Dalton either. Over the mountain and through the woods haha
huntin season is around the corner so August might be the last time I get to ride til next year lol. I'm a deer hunter in the fall and everything else(including work) gets put on hold as much as possible lol.
-
There is 1 trails that can give a few guys a good flopping. ;) But really one 1 fun trail I saw when I went. Get to the bottom and go back up.
